There was a time in the not-too-distant past when people would be sworn into their new political positions by placing their hands on a Bible.

But it seems those days are long behind us.

Before we get too far into the story, let me just preface it by saying, that it is one more reason you should seriously consider pulling your children from public schools.

Fox News is reporting, that Karen Smith, a Democrat, was sworn into her new position as president of the Central Bucks school board in Pennsylvania, by placing her hands on a stack of books that included a book called, Flamer.

I will let Fox News describe it:

One of the books Smith placed her hand on is “Flamer,” written by award-winning author and artist Mike Curato. Released in 2020, Curato’s work is a semi-autobiographical graphic novel set in 1995. It tells the story of a character who is bullied at a Boy Scouts summer camp for “acting in a manner considered stereotypical of gay men.” The graphic novel includes characters discussing pornography, erections, masturbation, penis size, and an illustration that depicts naked teenage boys.”

Fox News adds that the book has been banned and/or challenged in several schools across America because of its explicit sexual content.

With Smith’s nomination and the addition of four new members, the school board will now have a Democrat majority. Central Bucks School Board oversees nearly 18,000 students in 23 schools.
