After a few days at a San Francisco school, 13-year-old Ukrainian refugee wants to return home because it’s safer

A 13-year-old Ukrainian refugee who fled her country because of the Russian invasion now wants to return to Ukraine because of the violence she experienced firsthand at a San Francisco school, The Blaze reports. California has gone woke and violence and crime is not only running rampant in its streets but apparently also in its schools. In an interview with the San Francisco Chronicle, Yana stated that during her first month at Marina Middle School she allegedly had her cell phone stolen and several students threaten her. During classes, she witnessed students disrupting and disrespecting teachers and causing disturbances. When none were disciplined, Yana realized this is normal behavior at her San Francisco School. When the school board refused Yana’s parents’ request to have their daughter moved to another school, Yana, over fears for her safety, has refused to attend any further classes and wants to return to Ukraine. The Blaze provided a quote from the San Francisco Examiner on a recent incident at the same school Yana attended: Teachers, counselors and security staff who …

Why are enrollments in Public Schools continuing to drop?

The decline in the number of children attending public schools is continuing in 2023, according to reports The trend towards homeschooling or private schools started before COVID dropped, as parents were already becoming concerned about what is taking place in the public schools. But once COVID hit, the exodus quickly ramped up largely due to the erratic behavior of the public school in response to the pandemic. Parents had no certainty of which way school officials would go, who were seemingly changing their minds on a whim. According to data released by the National Center for Education, the number of children in the public school system dropped from 50.8 million in the fall of 2019 to 49.4 million in the fall of 2020, a drop of over one million students in the course of a year. In 1973, there were approximately 13,000 children being homeschooled by American parents. This had grown to five million by 2020 and this trend is continuing. As an example, the number of students being homeschooled in Texas increased five times …

Apparently, good grammar is racist

There is an old saying that when everything is important, then nothing is important. And recently we have seen a flood of things that the woke are calling racist, which after a while literally devalues things that actually are. The latest comes from a woke teacher, from not surprisingly California, who allegedly stated that good writing and proper grammar are racist, and vowed to make changes in her classroom the next term. According to Fox News, Marta Shaffer, who teaches English at Oroville High School in Northern California, made this claim in a recent TikTok video. Shaffer added that ‘white supremacy’ runs deep in public schools stating: “What do I mean by that? Well, let’s look at how we write essays: Start with an introduction that includes a thesis; always cite your sources; use transition words like ‘however’ and ‘therefore.’ They are all made-up rules. They’re arbitrary. They were created by Westerners in power.” She also described proper grammar, as the ‘language of power.’ Now, to be fair not everything that Shaffer said was completely …

US Christian schools are being overrun with applications

CBN reports that with all the controversies engulfing public schools in the US, Christian schools are seeing a marked increase in applications. Since Cornerstone Chapel’s Senior Pastor Gary Hamrick announced the church would be setting up a private Christian school in the fall of 2023, it has received over 2,500 applications for its 500 elementary and middle school positions. The church, based in Leesburg, Virginia, is located in Loudon County which has become the battleground over parental rights in public schools. However, the problems don’t seem to be isolated to Loudon County, as the school has also received applications from 27 other states. As well, over 450 teachers have already applied for jobs. CBN writes: The multimillion-dollar project is Hamrick’s response to what’s playing out in public school systems across the country.  Loudoun is considered the face of the nation’s culture war, for more than a year, parents have railed against everything from sexual assault on campus to critical race theory and transgender policies.  Teacher Tanner Cross’s dismissal for refusing to call students by preferred pronouns …

The ‘Bizarro World’ of schools, kids, and facemasks

For those too young to know, the Bizarro World was the alternate Superman universe where everything was opposite. Good was evil and evil good. All thinking was reversed. The illogical became logical and logical became illogical. And, it seems, some of America’s public schools have now entered this alternate universe. The Daily Mail reports that on April 18, 2022, Milwaukee Public Schools ended their mask mandate. Students and teachers would no longer need to wear them. Mask wearing would be optional. Then, after one day of being free, the school board reversed the decision and required everyone to wear masks. Why, you ask? This is because COVID testing revealed over the course of one day there was a dramatic increase in COVID cases. The Daily Mail explains: There were 479 new cases of COVID-19 in Wisconsin on Tuesday – but the next day, that number shot up to 1,585, according to the Wisconsin Department of Health Services.  It’s ‘Bizarro World’ where illogical becomes logical. It typically takes around four days to test positive for COVID …
