
A recent study by the Institute for Fiscal Studies (IFS) and the UCL Institute of Education reports that the lockdowns had a negative impact on nearly half of Britain’s children (ages 4 to 16), Breitbart reports.
The study found that 47% of parents of the 6,095 families surveyed reported that their child’s emotional development suffered during the lockdowns. This is compared to 16% who reported their child’s emotional state actually improved.
For those who experienced a decline, the parents stated that the lockdowns resulted in increased behavioral problems and as well an increase of fear in their children.
The study noted:
“The COVID-19 pandemic disrupted many aspects of children’s lives, with impacts on their social and emotional development as well as their educational attainment… parents’ labour market experiences during the pandemic could have affected both a household’s resources and the quality and quantity of time parents and children spent together.”

In the US, several states reopened schools because of concerns about the growing suicide rates among students.
