Ryan Trahan, 24, is a popular YouTuber with over 12.9 million subscribers on his main channel and 1.1 million subscribers on a secondary channel where he shares more personal videos.
Once a self-proclaimed atheist, he has since become a believer in Christ, God TV reports.
Trahan revealed his faith in an interview with another YouTuber, New Ager Anthony Padilla.
He became a Christian through the influence of his girlfriend, Haley. At the start of their relationship, Trahan initially challenged Haley’s faith by asking her tough questions with the ultimate goal of having her leave the Christian faith.
However, rather than Haley questioning her faith, the answers she provided resulted in Trahan questioning his own worldview.
At this point, Trahan had fame and wealth and was living a life that other can only dream of having.
But despite all that he had, the atheist YouTuber admitted that he felt empty and realized something was missing in his life and began to open himself up to spiritual things.
This started initially with prayer, and eventually led him to accept Jesus.
He stated in the interview that he is shocked by the change in his life stating that if someone had said three years ago he would become a Christian, he would have laughed at them.
In a separate podcast interview, his now wife Haley shared how she prayed for Ryan to have an encounter with Jesus.
YouTuber Ruslan KD reported on the Trahan’s faith journey and I found some of the comments about Trahan’s conversion interesting:
@kelliling28 — I watched Ryan and Haley before Ryan became a Christian. It is amazing to see his change in demeanour from before and after!
@Allie82386 — My 9yr old son watches all his videos & even got me into his Mr. Beast Challenge over the summer. I am SO excited to know he is a follower of God. As a mama I am Thankful that other little boys have a Godly male influencer to look up to.
Trahan started his YouTube channel in 2013 and quickly rose to fame with a series of videos called the ‘Penny Challenge.’ He started in California with one penny with the intent to travel across America to North Carolina where he would deliver that one penny to fellow YouTuber, Mr Beast, along with $100,000 he hoped to raise for Feeding America, a nonprofit.
Trahan financed his journey by doing odd jobs along the way such mowing lawns, walking dogs, completing online survey, and selling items such as golf balls and bottled water.
Over the past few years, I have actually come across some of Trahan’s videos, so it was interesting to hear about his faith journey.
