Maybe it is just a coincidence.

CBN reports that the UN just installed a statue of a jaguar with eagle wings in its visitor plaza that is oddly similar to a beast that appears in the end times mentioned in Daniel and the book of Revelation.

First, Daniel described a beast that looked like a lion with eagle wings:

Daniel said: “In my vision at night I looked, and there before me were the four winds of heaven churning up the great sea.Four great beasts, each different from the others, came up out of the sea.

The first was like a lion, and it had the wings of an eagle.” (Daniel 7:2-4 NIV)

And then the Apostle John in his vision of the end times writes:

“And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority.” (Revelation 13:2 NIV)

As CBN points out, this UN statue is a symbol of peace and security, and the Apostle Paul also had a few things to say about that:

“For you yourselves know full well that the day of the Lord will come just like a thief in the night. While they are saying, ‘Peace and safety!’ then destruction will come upon them suddenly like labor pains upon a woman with child, and they will not escape.”  (1 Thessalonians 5:2-)
