Is New York City descending into lawlessness?

According to reports, the number of people murdered in New York City is nearly double the number murdered by the same time last year, and people are pointing their finger at New York’s Democrat Mayor Bill de Blasio as the reason for the increase.

Breitbart reports:

On Sunday, Mayor Bill de Blasio’s (D) New York City passed the grim milestone of 1,000 shootings so far this year.

The New York Post reports NYPD data indicates there were 1,004 shootings in NYC as of August 30, 2020. There were 537 shootings by that same time in 2019.

Moreover, the data shows “an average of nearly 10 people fell victim to gun violence each day over the last four weeks.”

Of course, I am sure it has nothing to do with the fact that the New York’s Democrat mayor and city council has cut the budget of the city’s police department by $1 billion. In fact, it has gotten so lawless in New York, that a man brazenly tried to rape a woman standing on a subway platform at 11:00 in the morning as people looked on and did nothing (aside from videoing the assault). In His predictions about the end times in Matthew 24, Jesus warned about increased lawlessness and people’s lack of concern:

12 Because lawlessness is increased, most people’s love will grow cold. (Matthew 24:12 NASV)
