According to reports, the number of people murdered in New York City is nearly double the number murdered by the same time last year, and people are pointing their finger at New York’s Democrat Mayor Bill de Blasio as the reason for the increase. The New York Post reports NYPD data indicates there were 1,004 shootings in NYC as of August 30, 2020. There were 537 shootings by that same time in 2019.
