As I read about the massacre of 26 people (ages five to 72) in the First Baptist Church of Sutherland Springs, Texas, during their Sunday morning service, it struck me how we need God to speak and warn us.

Sutherland Springs located 30 miles southeast of San Antonia is a small town of just 400 people. yet somehow evil found its way there.

Twenty were also injured in the attack by gunman Devin Patrick Kelley, 26. A former member of the air force, a self-proclaimed atheist and loner, Kelley apparently killed himself after careening off the road in a chase after the shooting.

Two days earlier — Friday, November 3, 2017 — a neighbor attacked Christian politician Senator Paul Rand as he returned home. Rand suffered five broken ribs and lung contusions. According to a report on the Daily Caller, another person who lives on the same block alleges the attacker is an “avowed socialist” who fought with other neighbors over politics.

Despite this underlying issue, recent media reports suggest that conflicts over landscaping issues may have been the underlying motivation for the attack. However, some neighbors have since stepped forward claiming that landscaping had nothing to do with this blindside assault.

This was the second time that Rand was attacked, the first one being in June when a gunman opened fire on a group of Republican politicians attending a baseball practice. Another believer, House Majority Whip Steve Scalise, was seriously wounded in that attack.

These are dangerous times, even for Christians.

And because of this, we need credible prophetic voices to rise up in churches across the country to sound the alarm to Christians as the prophet Agabus did for the Apostle Paul (Acts 21:7-14). I am so convinced of this I asked a friend, Wayne Johnston, who ministers in the prophetic, to write a series of articles on prophecy.

I have also written articles of how God gave prophetic words to movie actors Chris Pratt and Denzel Washington about the fame that lay ahead for them. In Pratt’s case, his prophetic word came to pass within a couple of weeks.

I also wrote of a prophecy that spared the Kardashian family from the Armenian genocide.

The prophet Amos wrote:

“Surely the Lord God does nothing
Unless He reveals His secret counsel
To His servants the prophets.
⁸ A lion has roared! Who will not fear?
The Lord God has spoken! Who can but prophesy?” (Amos 3:7-8 NASV)

God wants to reveal things to His people. But for that to happen, we need people raised up with a prophetic calling and voice in these critical days who God can communicate with.

One of those prophets was Kim Clement. Kim died November 23, 2016 from health complications due to bleeding in his brain.

Referred to as the singing prophet, Clement prophesied of events that would strike America. In the video above you can see prophetic words given by Clement that related to the 911 attack in New York and the capture of Osama bin Laden, plus other notable incidents.

In his teaching on spiritual gifts, the Apostle Paul wrote:

14 Pursue love, yet desire earnestly spiritual gifts, but especially that you may prophesy. (1 Corinthians 14:1 NASV)
