We Need More Sin in 2017?

We have a lot of complaining in the world. I wanted to give you a link to someone whining about something on video, but I can’t. This is a Christian blog and they all swear like angry sailors.

Maybe try words like “millennial” or “Trump” or “Brexit” or “safe space” or “immigration” with a search engine. I’m sure you get the picture. You might see a video of a violently angry complainer, or maybe someone with an equally angry response. And I warned you about the swearing.

I don’t remember people acting like this ten years ago; the world has changed. Now a democratic election is close to a civil war and people seem to hate their neighbors who vote for the other side. Arguments are loud and emotional and we win if we drown out the other side, or maybe insult them into silent shame, or steal their election signs.

It’s a cage match between the Deplorables and the Snowflakes.

Here’s a problem; we don’t have enough sin. We have loud emotional arguments, on the edge of violence, with swearing and insults. That just tells us people are too lazy to build rational arguments; it’s so much easier to swear.

We are also experts on the faults of the other guys, and for this I have a video link. Have you seen the lessons for White Men in 2017? It’s racist, and sexist and demeaning, as it tells the other guys to not be racist, sexist or demeaning: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SBluYsydAVc

It was removed about 48 hours after it was posted, from the public outrage, but now it’s back and it has spawned a huge number of rants in opposition. Again, check out the responses at your own risk.

So we solve the world’s problems with emotional and offensive arguments directed against other people. That just means the 2017 project is doomed to fail, we can’t have a good year if the human race continues on this course.

Every project that solves a problem needs one thing; it needs a problem that can be solved. Insulting the other side has never produced good results, and we have been using that tool set for thousands of years. Jesus intervened with a revolution “forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us.” (Matthew 6:12)

Forgive me, and I will forgive the other guys.

The emotional critics on the Internet today are correct, the other guys are wrong, very wrong. If we do the math, that means everyone is wrong, and that is the sin that we need for 2017. I recommend for you, and for me, the radical Jesus revolution. Let’s all be wrong when we are wrong, and fix the problem that we can solve; ourselves.

I don’t always like these words, but they are true:

For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard. Yet God, with undeserved kindness, declares that we are righteous. He did this through Christ Jesus when he freed us from the penalty for our sins. (Romans 3: 23 and 24)

I trust that the year 2017 will be filled with good things for you. And I am sure that good things start when we step out of the crazy circus of this world, and into God’s light. It’s a radical concept.

… none of these will inherit the Kingdom of God. Some of you were once like that. But you were cleansed; you were made holy; you were made right with God by calling on the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God. (1 Corinthians 6: 10 and 11)

  1. Yes, I hear you and I’m sorry but there is absolutely no excuse for swearing ! To say they actually make the effort to add those extra ‘words’ ? I am just so glad to be a born again Christian, and be able to more understand what is going on in these ‘end times’. I urge all true believers to pray, pray, pray for the Rapture to come soon so we can finally be free of this world !

Thank you for your comment. As we wait for the end, we can live a new life without the nonsense in the world. And I think lots of people would join us if they knew the way.
