It hasn’t received much press. I guess if there is no blood or gore, most in the media are not that interested.

Two churches in La Cruces, New Mexico had bombs explode outside their buildings a half an hour part on Sunday morning, August 2, 2015.

With a population of 101,000, La Cruces also called the “City of the Crosses” is the second largest city in New Mexico.

The first bomb exploded in the mail box of Calvary Baptist Church at about 8:20 am. The service hadn’t started yet and though there were 30 people inside, no one was injured.

The second bomb exploded about a half an hour later at the nearby Holy Cross Catholic Church. This bomb detonated in front of the church’s heavy glass doors shattering the glass as a communion service was underway attended by Monseigneur John Anderson.

Dennis Llewellyn who attends Calvary Baptist is a former member of the US Marine’s special forces. He knew immediately it was bomb stating, “it was a real bomb, I saw all the parts,” one of which was an EverReady battery.

A New Mexico bomb squad is investigating. Though it hasn’t been confirmed, many suspect the two attacks are related.

Churches need to realize they have bull eyes painted on them that are very visible in the spiritual realm. The Apostle Paul writes in Ephesians that the wisdom of God is known to spiritual rulers and authorities through the existence of the Church.

10 so that the manifold wisdom of God might now be made known through the church to the rulers and the authorities in the heavenly places. (Ephesians 3:10 NASV)

Satan at this point controls the world. We see that in Christ’s temptation when the devil offered Jesus all the nations of the world for a moment of worship. Satan adds that the earth had been given to him and Jesus never challenged that statement.

And the devil said to Him, “I will give You all this domain and its glory; for it has been handed over to me, and I give it to whomever I wish. (Luke 4:6 NASV)

This means every church is an outpost behind enemy lines. Satan sees them and hates them because they are repeated reminders of God’s wisdom and the devil’s failure.

We are in a spiritual battle and sometimes the deceiver is able to influence people to do evil.

In May 2014, someone set fire set six fires on the property of churches in Mesa, New Mexico, a suburb of Phoenix. Coincidentally one of the churches involved was also called Calvary Baptist Church.

The fires were set away from the buildings so the intent was not to burn down the churches. But since the perpetuators used Bibles to light the fires, some suspect these were actually part of a satanic ritual as burning of Bibles is often included in Black masses.

The latest attack suggests the devil has upped the ante.
