According to CSIS, Canada’s intelligence agency, the Chinese Communist Party interfered in Canada’s last federal election to ensure that the Liberal Prime Minister Justin Trudeau was re-elected. Part of this plan included making sure any Conservative Politicians who opposed Beijing were not elected. The Globe and Mail writes: China employed a sophisticated strategy to disrupt Canada’s democracy in the 2021 federal election campaign as Chinese diplomats and their proxies backed the re-election of Justin Trudeau’s Liberals – but only to another minority government – and worked to defeat Conservative politicians considered to be unfriendly to Beijing. Poll: 50% of Americans believe mainstream media purposefully trying to mislead or misinform people

A poll conducted by Gallup and the Knight Foundation in 2022 and released on Wednesday, Feb 15, 2023, revealed how far America’s trust of the mainstream media has fallen, Global News reports. The survey found that 50% of Americans believe the mainstream media is purposefully trying to mislead and misinform people or persuade the public on particular viewpoints when it comes to reporting the news. Only 25% believed that they were not. As well, 52% of Americans did not believe the mainstream media was producing news that was in the best interest of the public. It seems that the majority of Americans believe the mainstream media has other agendas when it comes to reporting the news. Only 23% believed the legacy media acted in the public’s best interest. King Jehoiachin’s ration cards discovered at the ancient site of Babylon

The last few verses of 2 Kings explains what happened to Jehoiachin, the king of Judah after Nebuchadnezzar hauled Jehoiachin and his family into captivity around 597 BC. King Jehoiachin was 18 years old when the Babylonians invaded after Jehoiachin’s father, who was serving as a vassal king to Babylon, decided to rebel and no longer pay tribute (2 Kings 24:1). At this point, Jehoiachin had only been on the throne three months and immediately surrendered to the invaders. Nebuchadnezzar installed Jehoiachin’s uncle, Mattaniah to serve as the puppet king of Judah and renamed him Zedekiah (2 Kings 24:8-17). But while Jehoiachin was in captivity we read that he was treated well by the Babylonians, particularly after Evil-Merodach (also known as Amel-Marduk) became king upon the death of his father, Nebuchadnezzar. Evil-Merodach released Jehoiachin from prison and placed him under soft house arrest and allowed Jehoiachin to eat with the King, treating him better than the other kings taken captive. As we reported yesterday, revival has broken out at Asbury University in Wilmore, Kentucky. People are now coming to visit the college from across the US, leading to reports of the revival spreading to other colleges. The revival started on Wednesday, Feb 8, 2023 during a chapel service and has been going on 24/7 since then. Some are comparing it to a revival that broke out at Asbury in 1970 in connection with the Jesus People movement. The following are a couple of CBN reports on what is happening:

According to EDO, a Christian ad that ran during the Superbowl was the second most engaged ad during the NFL championship game, coming in second to a Warner Brother commercial about its upcoming movie, The Flash, CBN reports. EDO is a multimedia company that measures people’s engagement in ads. The 60-second black and white commercial entitled “Love Your Enemies”, was produced by He Gets Us, a Christian organization founded in 2022 to spread the news about Christ online through radio, TV and digital advertising. The organization is funded in part by Hobby Lobby CEO David Green and other donors. The ad predictably drew criticism from the radical left with Rep. Revival breaks out at Asbury University in Kentucky

The school founded in 1891 has over 1,800 students and is across the street from the associated Asbury Theological Seminary which has over 1,700 students. The revival broke out during a chapel service on Wednesday, Feb 8, 2023, when 100 students responded to an altar call resulting in them falling to their knees in prayer and repentance. Those attending services stated there is a tangible presence of the Holy Spirit during the services that have been going on 24/7 since the revival broke out. Chinese investors own over 384K acres of US farmland

While some are worried about Communist China spy balloons floating over sensitive military sites in the US, others are equally concerned about what is happening on the ground. According to a report by the United States Department of Agriculture, at the end of 2021, Chinese investors owned 383,935 acres of American farmland, The Blaze reports. This did not include the purchase of 370 acres last year in North Dakota for $2.3 million by the Fufeng Group, which intended to use the land to build a corn mill. Though the purchase only involved a few hundred acres, concerns were immediately raised about the potential construction due to its proximity to an important US air base and Fufeng’s deep connections to the Chinese Communist Party. The Grand Forks Air Force Base provides key support to US military and space operations. A survey conducted by UW-Stout’s Menard Center for Public Policy and Service found that 57% of students felt they could not express their personal views on controversial subjects in classes at the University of Wisconsin, WND reports. I have often been leery of claims by the Roman Catholic Church of miraculous healing because sometimes they attribute them to a myriad of things like the saints. In fact, you can’t become a saint in the Roman Catholic Church without performing at least two miracles after you are dead, which I believe is Biblical error. However, I do acknowledge, there was one instance of a dead man coming to life after touching the bones of the prophet Elisha (2 Kings 13:21), but I believe the healing came from the anointing remaining on his bones. Turkey’s earthquake shifted the country by upwards of 10 feet

In his vision of the end times, the Apostle John described seeing an earthquake that he described the biggest earthquake the world has ever seen (Revelation 16:17-20). It would split a city, that he called Babylon into three parts and destroy cities in neighboring nations. In the verse, Johns saw islands fleeing and mountains disappearing which suggests that the shake was so massive it caused islands and mountains to shift (Revelation 16:20) or perhaps to be wiped out by tsunamis. The Daily Mail reports that the recent earthquake in Turkey says it was so powerful that it actually shifted the nation of Turkey by upwards of 10 feet (ca. 3 m). According to one Italian seismologist, satellite images reveal that Turkey could have moved as much as 18 feet (5.49 m) in relation to its neighbor, Syria, also hit by the earthquake.
