God is moving in the midst of COVID-19

While the rest of the world is in various levels of quarantine, doctors and nurses are battling in the trenches for those struck down by COVID-19. And in the midst of this, many are turning to God for help. On March 29, 2020, a video was released on Twitter of New York nurses praying for divine healing for their patients and as well praying for people who she described as dying alone because of the quarantine. One unidentified nurse prayed: “Grant us favour as we seek your face oh God, no other face but the name of Jesus.” In Nashville, TN, pictures surfaced on Facebook of nurses meeting on the helipad of Vanderbilt University Medical Center to pray for the people struck down by virus in their hospital and as well as their family members. They also prayed for the medical staff at their hospital and those around the world who have been overwhelmed by the influx of new patients. According to WKRN TV, a nurse posted on Facebook: “We could feel God’s presence in …

Three interesting stories out of the COVID-19 pandemic

With most of the world still in lock down over the COVID-19 pandemic I decided to share three interesting stories that have merged out of this world crisis. God healed me after Mike Pence prayed for me The first involves a man from Georgia, who in an interview with CNN, claimed that prayers, and particularly the prayers of US Vice President Mike Pence, healed him of COVID-19. Clay Bentley told CNN he went to the hospital with flu-like symptoms but was sent home later that day when tests revealed no signs of the flu. That night things started getting worse for Bentley. Over the next few days, his lungs started filling with fluid making it increasingly difficult for him to breathe. When his condition worsened, Bentley returned to the hospital and was diagnosed with COVID-19. But by this time, he was in serious trouble because it was almost impossible for him to breath, which is why there is such a demand for ventilators. But suddenly and almost miraculously he started improving. He told CNN that …

No Chance

A husband grabs a wall map of the world and tapes it up. He hands his wife a dart and tells her that wherever it lands is where they are going for a two-week vacation. She closes her eyes and throws the dart. I guess they’re spending their vacation behind the fridge! I like that story. It reminds me of what happens when we leave things to chance. As they say in gambling circles, sometimes you win and sometimes you lose. The problem with chance is that there is no path to follow. You are like a man tossed into the seed at the mercy of wherever the waves go. It may seem that chance had its way with us when we are born. After all, I had no choice of my gender, color, culture, family, environment, etc. It appears that some people are born into opportunity and others born into trouble. The Queen of England was born into a royal family. Could she have been just as easily been born in an impoverished family …

Who Do We Blame For The Virus?

So, who do we blame for the “Chinese Virus” or the “Wuhan Virus?” The name says it all, unless we change the name. The World Health Organization renamed it “Covid-19” partly to avoid blaming anyone for it. Some writers think we should blame bats because viruses like the Covid-19 are found in bats in China. It’s a bad time to be a bat. Apparently, the outbreak that is damaging the world so severely, started in China, in Hubei Province, in Wuhan city and that probably happened in December 2019, but the first cases of the disease may have occurred as early as November. The Government of China doesn’t like the criticism, and now we have a claim, popular in China, that the U.S. military somehow brought the virus to China. The U.S. does have several BSL4 labs. That’s the highest level of Biohazard Safety Laboratory. But then, the critics on the other side want us to know that China has its main BSL4 lab in the city of Wuhan, very close to ground zero for …

Touching heaven, touching earth

Like many these days, I am praying more often than usual and in so many ways God has used this season of ‘panic’ COVID-19 to pull me into prayer more consistently than I have done for many years. Yes, God clearly used this time to ‘work out good,’ and bring out good disciplines in my life.  But there has been a change in how I pray. I am now praying more often, but not as long as I used too. These are not extended periods of prayers. They can be short just two to five minutes or sometimes longer. As well, I have set aside specific times to pray. When the clock strikes 8 am, 12 noon, 4 pm, 8 pm and 12 midnight, these are my designated times to pray. I start first by giving thanks. I often take five slow deep breaths to help clear my mind and slow my thoughts and then I enter into a time of prayer. Sometimes things come up and I miss my time, but I carry on with …

Massive reduction in COVID-19 death predictions for Britain?

A study by London, England’s Imperial College, released in mid-March, stated that without significant measures COVID-19 plague could potentially kill 2.2 million people in the US and 500,000 people in Britain. These apocalyptic predictions were result of computer modeling predictions led by Neil Ferguson, who some consider the pre-eminent epidemiologist in the world. Based on these projections, countries around the world implemented Draconian measures that resulted in millions of people losing their jobs. But then the week following, there was a significant downgrade to Ferguson’s predictions. According to the website New Scientist, at a presentation this week before a parliamentary committee in London, England, Ferguson provided a small update to those numbers. Ten days after predicting 500,000 deaths, Ferguson stated that only 20,000 people would die in Britain and according to New Scientist, the number of deaths “could be much lower.” During his presentation Ferguson apparently added that because of underlying conditions and older age, over half of those would probably have died this year anyway. This new estimate compares to the approximate 29,000 people …

Shawn Bolz prophesied the ‘panic’ associated with the Coronavirus was ‘exaggerated,’ two studies suggest he might be right

When Shawn Bolz came out with his prophecy at the end of February about the Coronavirus pandemic, one thing that caught my attention was his suggestion that the fear associated with this pandemic was exaggerated. Bolz wrote: “The exaggerated fear based tactics of both the enemy and several media outlets for political reasons is coming to an end. The enemy has been trying to distract and steal from several equally important purposes and issues by dominating airwaves with conspiracy and fear.” Shawn Bolz Prophecy, Charisma News At the time he gave this word, the concerns about COVID-19 was just gaining steam and his suggestion was clearly opposite of the prevailing opinion. Now it is obvious that this virus is concerning particularly for those with pre-existing conditions and those who are older and have weakened immune systems because of their age. However, nearly a month after Bolz gave that prophecy two reports are suggesting that maybe he was right. The first involves a study conducted by Harvard University and the Hong Kong’s School of Public Health …

MORE HOPE: Stanford Biophysicist Michael Levitt predicts the Coronavirus plague will end sooner than expected

In an interview with the Los Angeles Times, Stanford Biophysicist Michael Levitt predicts that the COVID-19 or Coronavirus will be over sooner than most people expect. Levitt is not just any Biophysicist, in 2013, he won a Nobel Prize for his work in chemistry. The Stanford professor did not receive a word from God like Prophet Shawn Bolz did at the end of February who predicted a quick slowing down of the disease while also suggesting the pandemic was exaggerated. Instead, the Nobel Laureate analyzed the data from 78 countries that reported over 50 cases of COVID-19. And he was not looking at the total number of people being afflicted with the virus in these countries or the number of celebrities who have caught it, but rather the reports of new cases of the virus. The growth of new cases is a reflection of how fast the disease is spreading and even Italy that has been in the COVID-19 limelight for several weeks is now reporting a decline in new cases. And based on this, …

Bolz clarifies prophetic word on COVID-19, millions will not die

On March 10th, I published an article on a prophetic word released by Shawn Bolz about COVID-19 or the Coronavirus. Bolz is considered by many to have a prophetic voice in Charismatic circles. I appreciate his willingness to put his prophetic gifting on the line like this because his prophetic word was in utter contrast to the current media and government sentiments about the pandemic. In this prophetic word, Bolz said that God told him the plague would soon be ending: “The Lord is saying ‘I am removing the threat of this.’ Within a short amount of time the extreme threat will feel like it is in the way past.’” Shawn Bolz, Prophetic Word But that is not what the media and government agencies are reporting. According to an article published by the Daily Mail, the Robert Koch Institute, a government agency in Germany responsible for monitoring disease, warned that the disease could go on for two years. Lack is not the Issue

In these COVID-19 days, images of empty shelves are splashed across all media outlets. Long line-ups of people rushing to the stores to purchase food items and sometimes over-buying non-essentials, resulting in hoarding. While world poverty has been reduced significantly in the new millennium, there is still over a billion people world-wide who live in extreme poverty. Self-survival is not new to our generation and although we’ve never watched a child die from malnutrition, or had to resort to cannibalism to survive, a great majority have experienced a ‘scrapping the bottom ofthe barrel’ time. The Bible is filled with stories of people seeking provision during times of adversity. Jesus recognized this social issue; “The poor you will always have with you, but you will not always have me,” (Matthew 26:11). Panicking during droughts and diseases is mankind’s natural reaction to an adverse situation. But lack of provision is not necessarily the true underlining issue for our reaction. The prophet Elijah is instructed by the LORD to go into Zarephath, a city of Idol worship, where …
