My wife and I had a new fridge delivered this week. Our old one was making all sorts of weird noises. It was so loud at times, we had to turn up the TV to drown it out.
We had a repairman out twice earlier to fix it for the same issue. Both times were expensive repairs, but cheaper than buying a new one. I said the third time it happens we get a new fridge.
I still regret getting rid of our old yellow fridge several years back. We had it for over 20 years. It came with the first house we bought when we got married. I suspect it is still faithfully working in the cabin of the people who bought it.
They don’t make appliances like they used to. Some call it “planned obsolescence”.

Christianity No Longer a White Man’s Religion
According to a researcher with Operation World, Jason Mandryk, Christianity is booming in Africa. He made that statement in a presentation at the World Evangelical Alliance (WEA) General Assembly in Seoul earlier this week.
In 1960, Evangelicals made up 6% of the world’s Christian population, but today we number 25%, upwards of 650 million
The bulk of this growth is taking place in Africa, which Mandryk stated accounts for 70% of Evangelical growth in recent years.
He described the growth of the evangelical church in the west as modest, but used the terms “vibrant” and “quickly growing” to describe what happening in Africa.
He added criticisms that Christianity is a white man’s religion are “rapidly shrinking in the rearview mirror.”
Christianity’s Growth in the West Marred by the Liberal Church Decline
While there have been reports that Christianity is declining in the West, the figures are a bit misleading. Yes, membership in the mainline churches, who don’t believe in the Bible or that Jesus is God, are in absolute free fall.
In its most recent annual report the Liberal American Episcopal Church failed to include its membership numbers for 2024. Some would call it a glaring omission. We can only speculate as to why.
But it did include the number in its 2023 report. This revealed that between 2010 and 2023, the church’s membership plummeted from 1.96 million to 1.547 million.
Personally, I am not convinced that the Episcopal church even meets the Biblical definition of a church. It’s more of a social club.
Nevertheless the decline of the Liberal churches skewers the overall church numbers in America. The Evangelical church is continuing to grow. But within the Evangelical movement, Charismatic and Pentecostal churches are booming and easily outpacing their non-charismatic counterparts.
The Wife of the Apostate Prophet Announces She is a Christian
Yesterday, I posted an article on how the ex wife of a Hamas terrorist and daughter of a cofounder of Hamas is now a Christian.
Today, we discuss how the wife of the “Apostate prophet” has also embraced Christianity.
The Apostate prophet, Ridvan Aydemir, is a Turkish-born German1 ex Muslim, before he abandoned Islam for Atheism. He quickly rose to prominence on youtube as he stared posting videos in 2017 exposing the problems and errors of Islam.
Since he started his channel, Ridvan has successfully debated many prominent Muslim academics.
Though we don’t have many details on his wife. She was apparently a fellow atheist when they married. But on a recent podcast of her husband she popped in briefly to announce that she was a Christian.
More recently in June she posted on X the following message, “Feeling good today. What are your reading suggestions for a new Christian?”
There are reports that her husband has even attended church services. He even joined Christian apologist David Wood on a trip to Israel.
“I have been a little bit different since I went to Israel and came back,” Ridvan stated. “Right now, I feel like it would be more accurate for me to say that I am agnostic. After I went there and came back, something happened in my head and in my heart. I can no longer have this conviction that there definitely is no god.”
Speaking of Mixed Faith Marriages
At a recent Turning Point USA event at the University of Mississippi, US Vice President JD Vance stated that he and his Hindu wife have decided to raise their children as Christian. Both his children even attend a Christian school.
Vance described himself as an agnostic, with atheistic leanings, when he married his wife, Usha. She held similar beliefs. Though, Usha was born to Telugu Indian parents in California, they were not practicing Hindus.
Since their marriage Vice President Vance has returned to Christianity and regularly attends church. His wife often joins him at services, even though she has not become a Christian.
“Do I hope eventually that she is somehow moved by the same thing that I was moved by in church? Yeah, I honestly do wish that, because I believe in the Christian Gospel and I hope eventually my wife comes to see it the same way,” Vance said. “But if she doesn’t, then God says everybody has free will and so that doesn’t cause a problem for me.”
Joe Rogan Say He Enjoys Attending Church
Over the past few months, there have been reports that Joe Rogan has been attending church. With millions of followers on social media platforms, Joe Rogan is arguably one of the most prominent podcasters in the world.
In a recent podcast, Rogan told his listeners that he has been a regular church attender.
“It’s a bunch of people that are going to try to make their lives better, trying to be a better person,” Rogan said in his podcast uploaded on Wednesday, October 22. “I mean, for me — at least the place that I go to — they read and analyze passages in the Bible. I’m really interested in what these people were trying to say, because I don’t think it’s nothing.”
