Actor Alan Ritchson, 41, who plays Jack Reacher in the popular Amazon TV series, Reacher, is a very outspoken Christian and even started a YouTube channel called InstaChurch, where he shares his faith and Biblical teaching, Faithwire reports.
The byline of the channel which he started in 2022 reads “Daring to awaken the other half of us. Let’s take a look at scripture and how it relates to our lives today.”
Alan has uploaded 70 videos on the channel, which now has over 21,000 followers.
In his most recent video, which has over 261,000 views, he addressed criticisms he received from other Christians involving his role as Reacher, which can be violent and morally ambiguous at times.
“I love playing a character who creates a kind of moral ambiguity that we should struggle against as we consider whether or not what he’s doing is good all the time or morally right,” Ritchson stated in his video. “I think that kind of thing is fun and fascinating, and I think escaping to that world as an audience, hopefully it’s as enjoyable for you as it is for me to help bring it to life.”
He also pointed to the Old and New Testament, where God consistently revealed who He was through less-than-perfect people.
In addition to his role in Reacher, Ritchson starred in a faith-based movie entitled Ordinary Angels set for release in early 2024.
