A Turkish lawmaker, Hasan Bitmez, has died after collapsing from a heart attack in the country’s parliament, literally seconds after he made a speech stating that Israel would experience Allah’s wrath for invading Gaza, the Daily Mail reports.

Video shows Hasan Bitmez, 54, falling to the ground behind the podium from a heart attack after condemning Israel’s response to the brutal invasion of its country by the Hamas terrorist group.

‘We can perhaps hide from our conscience but not from history,’ stating that ‘Israel will suffer the wrath of Allah’, Bitmez reportedly said just before he collapsed.

Bitmez, who is a member of the Felicity (Saadet) Party, a fundamentalist Islamic party in that country, was rushed to hospital where he later died.

During his speech, he also condemned Turkey’s friendly trade relations with Israel.

But it may all be just one bizarre coincidence, as according to reports, Bitmez had been experiencing serious health issues prior.

But then again, maybe not.

In the Book of Acts, Luke records the strange death of Herod Agrippa, who collapsed while addressing a festival honoring Caesar in Capernaum according to the ancient Jewish historian Josephus.

Herod Agrippa was the grandson of Herod the Great, who is mentioned as part of the story surrounding Jesus’ birth.

Luke states that Herod Agrippa was struck down by an angel of God as an act of judgment:

21 On an appointed day, after putting on his royal apparel, Herod took his seat on the rostrum and began delivering an address to them. 22 The people repeatedly cried out, “The voice of a god and not of a man!” 23 And immediately an angel of the Lord struck him because he did not give God the glory, and he was eaten by worms and died.” (Acts 12:21-23 NASV)

In the days leading up to his death, we read that Herod Agrippa had been actively persecuting the early Christians. He had already ordered the execution of James, the brother of the Apostle John, and had arrested Peter, whom Herod no doubt also intended to kill (Acts 12:1-5).

Muslims have a deep interest in spiritual matters, and undoubtedly this bizarre incident will raise many questions.
