‘Jesus Loves You’ card viewed by millions on Turkish media and Instagram

Turkey was rocked by yet another earthquake yesterday (Monday, Feb 20, 2023), with a magnitude 6.3, killing several people. Two weeks earlier, Turkey and Syria were hit with a 7.8 and 7.6 magnitude earthquakes which has resulted in nearly 47,000 deaths, 41,000 in Turkey and 6,000 in Syria. Those numbers are still expected to climb. It is considered one of the worst natural disasters in human history. God TV is reporting that a small card with the words ‘Jesus Loves You’ is showing up all across Turkish media and Instagram after the country’s religious leaders had several Awakening Europe (AE) Christian missionaries arrested for distributing the cards. Though an Islamic country, it is not illegal to hand out this type of religious material. Responding to the earthquake, AE sent nearly 30 missionaries to Turkey to distribute food, clothing, and tents to those ravaged by the earthquakes. Some members of the group ended up in an area of Turkey hardest hit by the earthquake. It is also an area with some of the strictest Islamic influence, …

Turkey’s earthquake shifted the country by upwards of 10 feet

In his vision of the end times, the Apostle John described seeing an earthquake that he described the biggest earthquake the world has ever seen (Revelation 16:17-20). It would split a city, that he called Babylon into three parts and destroy cities in neighboring nations. In the verse, Johns saw islands fleeing and mountains disappearing which suggests that the shake was so massive it caused islands and mountains to shift (Revelation 16:20) or perhaps to be wiped out by tsunamis. The Daily Mail reports that the recent earthquake in Turkey says it was so powerful that it actually shifted the nation of Turkey by upwards of 10 feet (ca. 3 m). According to one Italian seismologist, satellite images reveal that Turkey could have moved as much as 18 feet (5.49 m) in relation to its neighbor, Syria, also hit by the earthquake. Turkey was hit by two massive earthquakes, 7.8 and 7.5 magnitudes, on Monday, Feb 6, 2023. According to recent reports, the death toll is over 5,000 and still climbing. Despite all the devastation …

Turkey and COVID 19; Blaming the Christians.

In the country of Turkey, there are reports of attacks on Christians because some many people blame minorities for the COVID 19 pandemic. Christians are a minority in Turkey where most people identify as Muslim, and the government has a strong Islamic agenda. About half of the Turkish population strongly supports the government, and some protesters have pulled down crosses on churches. One protester was caught trying to burn down a church in Istanbul and he told the police that he blamed the Christians for COVID 19. There is another side to this story; a Christian broadcaster SAT-7 TURK, has been working to support Christians in Turkey for about five years, with television broadcasts. In the virus pandemic, they are receiving more questions about Christianity, from Turkish people, than at any time in their history. Not all of the attention is negative. God told us “I was found by those who did not seek me; I revealed myself to those who did not ask for me.” (Romans 10:20) READ: Turkey: Attacks on churches spike as …

Muslims and the modern world; the struggle is fierce

In Turkey, with an Islamic government, there is a common saying “Go to Holland.” These words are spoken to anyone who identifies as gay, or something similar. The government openly rejects its own citizens, if they identify with one of those sexual orientations. They are told to move to another country. As a Christian, I’m sure neither side wants my opinion, which is that they all need to find Jesus. I believe there are powerful forces in this world, and they can be bitter enemies. We are witnessing cultural civil wars where no one wants to understand, or forgive, or persuade. It’s worth asking ourselves the question; When I meet people who disagree with me, how do I treat them? READ: “Go to Holland” the new anti-gay slur trending in Turkey

The Spiritual Life of Turkey

For a generation, Turkey has been governed by conservative Muslims, who want to revive the old religion. For decades before that, the nation was officially secular and religion was excluded from government. That changed about twenty years ago. The return-to-religion plan has been very successful, except for one thing; teenagers don’t like it. In time, children grow to be adults, and soon the new generation will be the majority. That new generation has a very different culture from official government policy. The generation raised to be pious in the old religion has its own ideas. Does God still speak through dreams: A warning about Turkey?

Throughout the Bible God used dreams to communicate messages with people. The Pharaoh of Egypt received a dream warning of a coming drought, that Joseph successfully interpreted. Pontius Pilate’s wife received a dream warning her husband about his treatment of Jesus at the Lord’s trial. God used dreams in both the Old and New Testament to communicate with people, so should we be surprised that God might warn Christians today through dreams. If so maybe we need to take heed of a dream received by American Pastor Andrew Brunson while imprisoned in a Turkish prison after being accused of terrorism by the government. Andrew and his wife had served for 25 years prior as missionaries in Turkey working largely among the Kurds along the Syrian Turkish border. Brunson was eventually released from prison in October 2018 and returned to the US. Brunson received this dream in December 2016 while in prison. In an interview with Fox News, Brunson said: “In the dream, Turkey, Iran and Russia began to move together in a very dark alliance.” …

Muslim woman hated Christians, but Jesus spoke to her in a dream

A story on Christian Aid about the conversion of a young Muslim women living along the coast of the Black Sea in Turkey tells us not to underestimate the work we are doing for God. Matte, name not fully disclosed for security reasons, pastors a church in Turkey. He faithfully puts his sermons online, but often wondered if they were having any affect as he was seeing no results. “I sometimes wonder how many people watch the videos, and what is the result? Many are watching the videos, but why do they not believe?, ” he told Christian Aid. But his opinion changed after a young Muslim women wearing a traditional Muslim scarf showed up at church because of a dream. She had started watching the pastor’s videos online because she “hated the Christians” and wanted to make fun of his messages. But the sermons slowly started having an impact as they addressed deep needs in her life. She eventually decided to become a Christian, but did not go to church because of her strict …

Did the Turkish president just call for Muslims to invade Jerusalem?

[by Dean Smith] Recep Tayyip Erdogan has been president of Turkey for 13 years. In a recent speech to admiring supporters in the Turkish city of Erzincan, Erdogan called for Muslims to invade and conquer Jerusalem. In his speech, reported by the Anadolu Agency, Erdogan said: “We Muslims have lost our way toward Jerusalem. The water of our eyes froze making us blind, and our hearts that are destined to beat for Jerusalem is now instead conditioned for rivalry being in a state of war with each other.” In the last part of the statement, he was referring to the bitter rivalry between Shia and Sunni Muslims who have warred with each other for decades. Instead of fighting each other, Erdogan said the two groups must unite against their common enemy Israel.

Was Kim Kardashian’s family saved by a 165-year-old prophecy?

Kim Kardashian, 34, is an American TV celebrity most famous for her reality TV show Keeping up with the Kardashians. It was rumored she was the highest paid reality star at the time. She has since branched out to other TV programs, movies and the retail and fashion industry. Her father, Robert Kardashian, is a 3rd generation American-Armenian and most famous for his role in helping defend former NFL star OJ Simpson in his notorious murder trial in 1995. Research by the Daily Mail has recently uncovered a strange story of how a prophetic word by a 11-year-old boy saved Kim’s family on her father’s side from the Armenian genocide. The Kardashian family originated in Russia and at that time had the last name Kardaschoffs. Sometime in the mid to late 1800s, they moved to the village of Karakale, in present-day Turkey. It is found near Mt Ararat, considered the resting place of Noah’s ark. The family was considered religious rebels as they did not belong to the Russian Orthodox church but instead favored the …
