With universities turning into little more than indoctrination camps for the political left, it is not surprising that most employers are dissatisfied with the end product that our esteemed institutions are turning out.

According to a recent poll of business owners conducted in late October, 67% answered with a ‘strong no’ when asked if universities were “graduating students with relevant skills that today’s business community needs.”

An additional 24.4% answered with a ‘somewhat no’, which means 91% believed that universities were providing none or few of the skills needed for the modern workforce. Only 8.7% believed that universities were turning out students with relevant skills.

In fact, only 10% of the employers stated that having a four-year college degree makes a potential job candidate more hirable. Meanwhile, 42% stated that a college degree made absolutely no difference and 40% went the additional step and stated that a college degree would make the person less hirable.

Nevertheless, students are now graduating with tens of thousands of dollars of debt believing their degrees will magically open doors for them.

In an interview with Fox News, Ken Rusk, the author of Blue Collar Cash summed up that unfortunate sentiment stating:

They’ve [graduates] kind of been hoodwinked a little bit to think that the degree is the thing that’s going to carry the day completely. You have to remember that it’s something that you’re supposed to use to enhance the skills that you already have, and that’s what we’re seeing now. They’re relying way too much on that piece of paper or that degree, rather than getting some of the experiences that they need [and] that these companies really want.
