This testimony by Liz Wright actually reveals two miracles, the miracle of creation and the miracle of divine healing.

In a recent video on God TV, Wright, who heads the International Mentoring Community, shared how she was healed of an affliction called the motor neuron transmission disorder.

Also called ALS or Lou Gehrig’s disease, the name of a professional baseball player diagnosed with the affliction, it is a rare condition that affects our ability to function.

When a person decides to pick up a coffee cup and have a drink, the brain instantaneously sends out neurons through our nervous system telling the appropriate muscles to make the necessary movements to accomplish the task. This would involve several muscles in the arms, wrists, hands, and fingers.

Of course, neurons would also be sent to the head, mouth, and salivary glands as well in preparation.

The body has approximately 500,000 neurons that function in this capacity. Some of them are voluntary, waiting for instructions, others are involuntary giving you the ability to move your hand away when you touch something hot.

These involuntary neurons also control other functions, such as the beating of the heart, breathing, hormones, and everything related to consuming food.

Of course, the obvious question is how did something so complicated ever evolve completely by accident. Of course, it didn’t. It reflects an intricate design and the miracle of creation (Psalm 139:14).

In Liz Wright’s case, this process was breaking down. If she wanted a cup of coffee, her body was not sending the neurons to the body’s muscles to accomplish this task.

She was sent to a clinic in London, England where she was diagnosed with the disease, and sent home because there was nothing that could be done for her.

Though there are treatments that slow the disease, it is incurable and as the degradation continues, it results in full paralysis and eventual death as the involuntary movements necessary for breathing, for example, fail within a few years.

With doctors no longer able to do anything, Wright states that she prayed regularly for her healing, and it came at the oddest time.

While she was taking a bath, Wright says she felt impressed by the Holy Spirit to read a verse in the Psalms.

She immediately left the bathroom and found the verse.

“In the footnotes of the Psalm, it said, ‘For the sick and Abandoned.’ And as I read those words, Holy Spirit just began to pour into me. And began to saturate me with his love,” Wright said.

She was healed as she felt God’s love pouring into her.

“I began to say over and over and over. ‘Abba, Abba, Abba. Daddy, Daddy, Daddy.’ As the baptism of the Father’s love filled me,” Wright said.

She finished off the video by praying for people who needed similar miraculous healing in their lives.
