26 And just as it happened in the days of Noah, so will it also be in the days of the Son of Man: (Luke 17:26 NASV)
When speaking about His second coming, Jesus made an interesting comparison, stating that this period leading to Christ’s return will be like the Days of Noah.
What exactly will this all entail?
For one thing, it means that there will be an outpouring of wickedness on the earth and the inclination of every man’s thoughts will be toward evil (Genesis 6:5).
With the internet and the advent of social media, we seem to be quickly heading down the road.
We also know that violence and corruption filled the earth during the days of Noah (Genesis 6:11).
And again as we watch governments implement soft-on-crime policies, violence, and theft are becoming rampant as people are brazenly plundering stores in broad daylight.
At the end of August, four thieves wearing facemasks plundered a jewelry store in Pasadena, California at two in the afternoon stealing an estimated $500,000 as the store owner helplessly stood by and watched.
Obviously shaken by what happened, the man who has owned this family business for 50 years told Fox News, “In a second, they can come and destroy your life.”
As many pointed out in the comments, they believe there will be little to no consequences for the thieves even if they are caught because of California’s lenient judges, and soft-on-crime District Attorneys and politicians.
As we seem to be slowly entering those days of Noah predicted by Jesus, what can we expect as Christians?
Greg Laurie pastors Harvest Christian Fellowship, in Riverside, California and he recently completed a teaching series on the end times.
In his final sermon, Laurie stated that as we watch our culture and societies unravel, God will do something for those believers who similar to Noah choose to walk with God during these chaotic times.
The Holy Spirit is prepared to divinely warn us, as He did with Noah, of events that are about to transpire.
As the writer of Hebrews explained:
7 By faith Noah, being divinely warned of things not yet seen, moved with godly fear, prepared an ark for the saving of his household, by which he condemned the world and became heir of the righteousness which is according to faith. (Hebrews 11:7 NKJV)
Laurie added that the Holy Spirit will ‘reveal secrets’ to believers if we listen and by faith obey His guidance.
