It’s not mountain-sized, like the one the Apostle John saw in his vision of the end-times, but a bus-sized asteroid that will miss earth by only 2,100 miles (ca. 3,380 km) later this week.
The asteroid, named 2023 BU, which is travelling at 33,300 miles (ca. 53,591 km) an hour, will skim by earth on Friday, Jan 27, 2023.
According to NASA, its current trajectory indicates it will not hit the earth, but nevertheless, it is the fourth-closest recorded distance an asteroid has been to our planet.
2023 BU was only picked up by NASA the past weekend.
At 12.4 feet (3.78 m) by 27.8 feet (8.47 m) in size, it is about half the size of the meteor that exploded over Chelyabinsk, Russia in 2013.
NASA added that 2023 BU would probably burn up if it did veer into our planet.
So call it a warning shot across the bow, as the Apostle John warned of asteroids hitting earth during the end times apocalypse causing significant damage
