George Monbiot, a columnist for The Guardian, a left-wing newspaper in England and eco-extremist, is calling for the government to end farming, the Daily Mail reports.
Monbiot made the claim in his recently released book Regenesis: Feeding the World Without Devouring the Planet.
In his book, Monbiot says that farming is the ‘most destructive force ever to have been unleashed by humans.’
Many are suggesting that this is simply part of Monbiot’s anti-rural agenda.
Are these extremist ideas impacting government policy?
And though these extremist views seem to be on the outer edges of the environmental movement, they are already impacting government policy, as some political leaders have clearly set their sites set on farming.
