A few months ago, Chicago’s Democrat mayor, Lori Lightfoot, caught up in the BLM defunding police fad, called for an $80 million funding cut for the city’s police budget.

The New York Post reports that with gun murders rocketing out of control, Mayor Lori Lightfoot has changed her tune slightly and recently asked the US federal government to send in help to stop the violence in the city.

So far this year, there have been nearly 4,300 shooting incidents in Chicago and 783 shooting deaths, making Chicago the most dangerous city in America.

Lightfoot who had previously rejected an offer of help by then US President Donald Trump, says she now officially opposes the ‘defund the police’ movement.

This is not surprising as Democrats have initiated a soft-on-crime agenda (such as eliminating or reducing bail requirements), demonized the police (emboldening the criminal element), and pushed for police forces to be defunded.

The crime wave sweeping across the country is the direct result of a years-long campaign by George Soros to bankroll the election of far-left district attorneys committed to undermining law and order.

Over the past six years or so, Soros has poured tens of millions of dollars into the campaigns of DA candidates from coast to coast, achieving a remarkable degree of success by simply overwhelming all the other candidates. Whereas normal DA candidates typically run on five-figure budgets, Soros-backed DA candidates routinely enjoy seven-figure war chests.
