When politicians are consumed by personal political ideology and not common sense or what is actually best for the country, you get the silliness that we see on display in the US White house.
After cancelling the Keystone XL Pipeline that would provide thousands of jobs and bring in cheap oil from Canada, US President Joe Biden is now pleading for the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) to increase its oil production:
In its statement, the White House cited concerns about the rising costs of gasoline and its impact on the economy:
“Higher gasoline costs, if left unchecked, risk harming the ongoing global recovery. The price of crude oil has been higher than it was at the end of 2019, before the onset of the pandemic.”
Predictably, it’s the average American who will ultimately suffer from President Biden’s decision to appease a small group of environmental extremists, who are apparently running the US government.
