Sister Hatune Dogan reports Muslim jihadists are performing barbaric atrocities against Christians in Syria. Sister Dogan is a nun with the Universal Syrian Orthodox Church and spends much of her time documenting Muslim extremists persecution of Christians.

In this graphic interview (be warned), Dogan speaks of Muslim persecution of Christian men and women in Syria. One involves the purging of blood from martyred Christians, so it can be sold to Muslim extremists for a bizarre ritual.

When Christians refuse to renounce their faith, Syrian jihadists force Christians to kneel on the ground. After pronouncing a death sentence, these members of the Syrian opposition use a knife to cut the main arteries of the Christians to drain and collect the blood and then behead the person.

After one of the Muslims who had participated in these executions became a Christian, Dogan asked him why they collected the blood. The man answered:

That’s a big business. A small bottle of Christian blood sent to the fanatics in Saudi Arabia is worth $100,000.

The Syrian group uses the money to fund its terrorist efforts. The question is what purpose would fanatics have for the blood?

In an interview with WND.com, Dogan explains. “Muslims believe that if they kill a Christian and wash their hands in the blood of the Christian, they will go to heaven.”  The blood washing apparently provides special benefits in  heaven as well.

In the video presentation, Dogan adds by washing their hands in Christian blood, extremists also believe they are participating in this sacrifice to Allah.

Sister Dogan was born into a Christian family in Turkey. Her family immigrated to Germany in 1985 to escape persecution. Dogan became a sister at the Morephrem Monastery in Losser, Holland. She has visited many countries in the Middle East and beyond. Much of her efforts focus on Christian persecution in Muslim countries.

Strange verse in Revelation

I remember reading a verse in the Book of Revelation years ago. It caught my attention because I thought it was a bit strange at the time. But like many end-time verses, as we get closer to the return of Jesus, they start to make sense.

Then I saw thrones, and they sat on them, and judgment was given to them. And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded because of their testimony of Jesus and because of the word of God, and those who had not worshiped the beast or his image, and had not received the mark on their forehead and on their hand; and they came to life and reigned with Christ for a thousand years. (Revelation 20:4 NASV)

The verse talks about a special honour reserved for those who were beheaded because of their faith in Christ and those who had not received the mark of the beast. When I read these verses years ago, beheading was rare — if it happened at all — so I thought it a bit odd.

Today, we know beheading is a favoured form of execution by Muslim extremists.

Looking at this verse, many believe beheading is a punishment reserved in the end times for those who don’t take the mark of the beast. But if you read the verse carefully it actually refers to two groups of people — those beheaded because of their testimony and those who refused the mark of the beast.

I think few of us appreciate the horrors Christians in some countries experience at the hands of Muslim fanatics, but God does and He will honour those Christians who stand firm in their faith.
