During her successful campaign for New York Governor in 2022, Democrat Kathy Hochul enjoyed mocking people who were fleeing the high tax rates and rampant crime that typically define Democrat states by telling them: “Just jump on a bus and head down to Florida where you belong, OK? You are not New Yorkers.” But it seems her tune has changed recently, The Blaze reports. Because people took Hochul’s advice and fled resulting in New York having the largest population decline of any US state in 2022. Of course, high taxes and rampant crime aren’t the only issues that caused people to flee. There was also its devastating COVID lockdown and anti-business and freedom regulations. But this exodus had a huge impact on the state’s pocketbook as the people fleeing were usually taxpayers. Chile rejects socialist constitution
There was a plebiscite just held in Chile that would make socialism the overriding force in the country’s constitution. It was intended to replace a constitution imposed by a military dictatorship four decades earlier. The new constitution was being promoted by its left-wing president, Gabril Boric, who promised it would usher in a new era of wokeness for the country. Boric made sure that socialist activists played a key role in drawing up the new constitution. However, in the vote held on Sunday, September 4, 2022, 61.9% of Chileans rejected Boric’s socialist constitution, with only 38.1% supporting it. So what was in Boric’s new socialist constitution? A woman who grew up under Mao Zedong’s glorious Communist revolution that resulted in over 40 million deaths in China is warning about the dangers of socialism starting to rise its head in America. Xi Van Fleet, who fled Communist China 36 years ago, spoke of her concerns in a recent interview on Fox and Friends. More businesses abandon California
Over the past couple of weeks, there have been more announcements of businesses and people fleeing California. Many cite the state’s socialist policies, anti-business atmosphere, high taxes, declining lifestyles, ridiculous lockdown and environmental regulations as the reasons for their departure. Of course, it becomes a vicious cycle. With California’s eroding tax base combined with the Democrat government’s refusal to cut spending, tax increases are the only solution to make up for lost revenue. So, the cycle continues. This past week, Oracle, a major developer of business software, announced it was moving its headquarters to Texas citing its employees quality of life as one of the reasons. It currently employs 135,000 people and it is not known how many will be directly impacted by the move. Poll: 98% of US socialists reject Biblical worldview
A recent poll of 2,000 Americans conducted by the Cultural Research Center discovered that 98% of those who believe in Socialism reject Christianity and its Biblical world view. In its news release, the Cultural Research Center stated: More than eight out of ten (83%) integrated disciples (i.e., individuals who possess a biblical worldview) prefer capitalism to socialism. In comparison, just half of those who do not have that worldview prefer capitalism (50%). Stated differently, 98% of the adults who prefer socialism do not have a biblical worldview! This shouldn’t come as a surprise as radical leftist rioters in Portland were caught a few weeks back burning Bibles. The poll, conducted by Barna Research Center, was interesting in another way as well. In addition to asking what people believed, it also asked what people did, to ensure that what they did corresponded with what they believed.
