NY Times says confrontational, Black man says terrorizing

While many in the mainstream media are downplaying the protests and riots happening across the US, those who are directly experiencing it are seeing them differently. Recently, the New York Times reported on a demonstration that took place in Portland, Oregon headlining the article by saying protestors are taking “a more confrontational approach.”

Riots force Portland police to ignore 911 calls last night

According to a report on Fox News, last night (Aug. 15-16, 2020) Portland police were forced to ignore over sixty 911 calls as officers were needed to deal with rioters. Fox News explains: More than 60 emergency calls to police went unheeded overnight in Portland as officers were preoccupied with hundreds of demonstrators downtown and were pelted by rocks. On the 80th consecutive night of protests, the Portland Police Bureau declared a riot around midnight Sunday after a crowd of hundreds had blocked traffic for three hours by the Penumbra Kelly Building in the 4700 block of East Burnside Street, trespassed on the closed property and engaged in “violent, tumultuous conduct.” READ: Over 60 Portland 911 calls go unheeded overnight as police respond to riot Of course, it wasn’t that long ago when Portland’s Democrat Mayor Ted Wheeler showed his support for rioters by joining them in their assault on a federal courthouse. Hong Kong Protester Denied Bail

According to Fox News, the first protestor in Hong Kong was charged under the new security laws.  Tong Ying-kit, 23 was denied bail and I held in custody until October 6th, his trail date. READ: Hong Kong protester first to be charged under new security law is denied bail I wonder if all those rioters in the US know how fortunate they are that protests are not just allowed, but a right in the US Constitution. I can not imagine too many other countries in which protests are tolerated to the degree they are in free and democratic countries. I wonder if all those who protest know that a peaceful protest produces results but violent rioting produces only fear and division. I wonder if they realize they are being taken over by a domestic terrorist group bent on destroying the freedoms of America? I wonder what will happen if they succeed and only one voice, their voice is heard. ___________________________ Andy Becker is a retired counsellor and author of The Travelers, a fictionalized account of …

Let’s have a loud argument!

We all know that the U.S., and a large part of the world in other countries, is having a loud argument. Most of the language that I hear are emotional, and it easily brings angry answers. That’s the motive behind simple slogans like “Defund the police!” and the rapid spread of rage in the streets. Your anger is requested. There is no debate, we are being baited, tempted and provoked. We have an enemy seeking to devour us, and a mindless angry response that causes real destruction is the goal. God must keep us a thoughtful and careful with our words. The words directed against Satan are “The Lord rebuke you.” (Jude 1:9) Amen to that. READ: Terry Gavin: American was born in violent protest: But it’s just wrong now

A tale of two protests

In Pittsburgh, police are looking for an Amazon employee, Brian Jordan Bartels, 20, for allegedly inciting a riot in that city. Bartels appears to be white and was dressed in the black clothing and mask typical of Antifa. He faces charges of vandalism, reckless endangerment of people and vandalism. Fox News reports: “Police secured the warrant as part of an investigation into a male suspect who incited Saturday’s violence by breaking the windows out of a marked Pittsburgh Police vehicle Uptown, against the wishes of peaceful protesters who tried to stop him,” police spokesman Chris Togneri said….. On Saturday Pittsburgh Police Chief Scott Schubert complained that the protest turned violent after being hijacked by white males dressed in anarchist Antifa attire.
