Toyota CEO says car manufacturers are not sold on electric vehicles

With politicians being driven by a green agenda, there seems to be a complete lack of common sense in what is taking place. Several governments are already legislating an end to the sale of gas-powered vehicles in their jurisdictions over the next decade or so. Meanwhile, car manufacturers, the ones who actually know what they are doing, are suggesting it is a bad idea. While on a visit to Thailand, Akio Toyoda, the head of Toyota, recently commented that he remains skeptical of the push towards only producing electric vehicles, the Daily Wire reports. He said that most working in the car industry agree with him but are too scared to speak out. “People involved in the auto industry are largely a silent majority,” Toyoda said. “That silent majority is wondering whether EVs are really OK to have as a single option. But they think it’s the trend so they can’t speak out loudly.” He added that the infrastructure, technology, and economics are not in place for such a radical shift. Elon Musk, the CEO …

The Effect of Strife

For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work. — James 3:16 By Rick Renner During our early years in the former USSR, Denise and I were invited to minister at three European conferences in Austria, Switzerland, and Germany, and I decided to bring our sons to give them the experience of ministering in Europe. When the day finally arrived for our long-anticipated trip, things got a little hectic, to say the least. The clock was ticking, and it was time for us to depart to the airport so we wouldn’t miss our flight. However, instead of getting ready, the boys were just poking around, and Denise hadn’t even finished packing. I knew that if we didn’t leave on time, we’d miss our flight. So in the midst of it all, I lost my temper and began to yell and threaten everyone to get downstairs immediately and pile in the car, or I was going to leave without them! Our ministry administrator at that time had agreed to housesit for us …

Has the tomb of Mary’s midwife, Salome, been discovered?

According to the Daily Mail, archaeologists working with Israel Antiquities Authority (IAA) claim to have uncovered the tomb of Salome, who is reportedly the midwife who attended to Mary when she gave birth to Christ. Of course, if you are a reader of the Gospels, you are probably thinking where in the New Testament does it mention that Mary had a midwife named Salome? Well, there is none. In fact, the only mention of Mary’s midwife is found in the Gospel of James, an apocryphal book dated to the second or third century. It tells the story of Mary, her childhood, her marriage to Joseph and the birth of Jesus with the assistance of Salome. It is said to have been written by James, the brother of Christ. But adds the stickler, James was the son of Joseph from a previous marriage. Some have even tried to connect this midwife to the Salome mentioned in the Gospels, who was the wife of Zebedee and mother of James and John (Matthew 27:56). She was also listed …

Were the Magi, God’s plunder of hell?

In his record of Jesus’ birth, Matthew reports that magi from the East came to Jerusalem looking for the newborn king, because they had seen His star. Bible versions have translated the Greek word, magos, used in this verse in different ways. Most translate it as ‘wise men’. The Message translates it as scholars. J.B. Philips translates the word as astrologers. The New American Standard Version uses Magi, with this footnote, “A caste of educated men specializing in astronomy, astrology, and natural science.” They were an interesting group and Wikipedia provides this definition of the magi: Magi (/ˈmeɪdʒaɪ/; singular magus/ˈmeɪɡəs/; from Latinmagus) were priests in Zoroastrianism and the earlier religions of the western Iranians. The earliest known use of the word magi is in the trilingual inscription written by Darius the Great, known as the Behistun Inscription. Old Persian texts, predating the Hellenistic period, refer to a magus as a Zurvanic, and presumably Zoroastrian, priest. Thayer’s Greek dictionary adds that they were also influential advisors to the Kings of Babylon and Persia: 1a) the name …

Attacks on American churches on the rise, report finds

A report just released by the Family Research Council (FRC) states that there were 420 attacks on 397 churches in 45 US states between January 2018 and September 2022, the Daily Signal reports. The report added that attacks on churches are also on the rise, stating that the number of attacks on churches in the first nine months of 2022 more than doubled the number for all of 2018. Churches of nearly every type were targeted, including evangelical, Pentecostal and Roman Catholic. According to the 84-page report, the attacks involved such things as bomb threats, arson, gun violence and even Molotov cocktails. There were also several acts of vandalism that ranged from spreading feces on a statue of the Virgin Mary to spray-painting obscenities and satanic symbols on churches to setting a nativity scene on fire. The report found that the two major contributing factors behind many attacks stemmed from the overturning of Roe v Wade by the Supreme Court and the Black Lives Matter protests following the death of George Floyd in May 2020. …

Sign of the Times: Earthquake rocks California

A 6.4 magnitude earthquake hit Northern California early Tuesday morning (Dec 20, 2022), the New York Post reports. The earthquake’s epicenter was seven miles southwest of Ferndale, which has a population of 15,000. Earthquakes in the 6.0 range can cause poorly constructed walls to collapse and fireplaces are also particularly vulnerable to damage. Though there were no immediate reports of damage, approximately 65,000 people in the area are without power because of the quake. Many homes found their floors littered as shelves and cupboards were emptied because of the shaking. Perhaps coincidentally, a similar-sized quake (6.2 magnitudes), hit California a year ago to the day. READ: Huge 6.4-magnitude quake rocks Northern California We know that earthquakes will play a significant role in the end times, as Jesus warned of many ‘great (Greek mega)’ earthquakes leading up to His return (Luke 21:11). In his vision of the last days recorded in the Book of Revelation, the Apostle John also mentioned several earthquakes (Rev 6:12-13, Rev 16:18, Rev 11:13). Many suggest California is a prime candidate for …

‘The Voice’ contestant stuns judges by singing worship song ‘Gratitude’

Bodie Kuljian’s recent performance of a worship song on The Voice, left judges speechless and others in tears according to several reports. Bodie, 29, is from Orange County, California. He is a worship leader at his local church and teaches songwriting and coaches a musical group at Vanguard University. During the first night of this season’s two-part finale, Bodie sang “Gratitude” written by Christian recording artist Brandon Lake. Though Bodie placed second in the competition behind Bryce Leatherwood, his performance impacted the judges. “I’m choking on my tears over here,” said judge Gwen Stefani. “You have a superpower behind you; it’s a truth. I think it comes from your pure faith that you have. … I can’t even speak right now. That was so beautiful.” Stefani’s husband, Blake Shelton who also served as Bodie’s coach during the competition described the performance as “one of the most moving performances I’ve seen in a long time on this show.” Brandon Lake, who is associated with Bethel Music, recorded his experience of watching Bodie perform “Gratitude “on Instagram. …

The left’s attack on food continues

The newly-re-elected progressive government of Ireland has announced its plan to cut the number of cattle in the country by 10% by 2030, Breitbart reports. This means the government will reduce the number of cattle in that country by 600,000 over the next eight years. It will have a devastating impact on farms in that country and as well the food supply According to the Irish Times, which received a copy of a draft report entitled the Climate Action Plan, the government will also reduce the number of cars allowed in the country by 25% over the same period. Of course, this is all just woke posturing as nothing that Ireland does will have any impact on global warming, even if you believe CO2 will destroy the world in the next couple of years. For over 30 years, the political elite has been warning us that we only have ten years to stop global warming, or it will be too late. Video: Little girl cries because she doesn’t have ‘lines’ like her mom

A cute little video on TikTok shows a young girl crying. When Vic Cross asked her daughter why she is crying, she explained it is because she doesn’t have lines like her mom and dad. When mom asks what lines, the daughter points to the wrinkles on her mom’s forehead. There was a funny comment on the Daily Mail about the video, explaining “When we were a small family, my sister used to cry most of the day because I and my brother both had a brother and a sister and she only had two brothers.” READ: ‘I haven’t got lines!’: Adorable video shows a young girl crying to her mother – because she wants wrinkles like her parents

Small hand-sized stone declared one of the great Biblical archaeological finds

Gershon Galil, a professor at Israel’s Haifa University’s Institute for Biblical Studies and Ancient History has declared a stone the size of a person’s hand as one of the greatest archaeological finds in recent years, CBN reports. The inscription on the stone from the 8th century BC, not only named one of Judah’s greatest kings, Hezekiah, but it also listed some of his accomplishments, which confirm the Biblical reports of his achievements. It took ten years for Galil and Eli Shukron from the Bible and Ancient History institute to decipher the stone’s inscription discovered in Old Jerusalem in 2007. They found that it not only listed the construction of the Siloam pool connected to the redirecting of the Gihon springs into Jerusalem but also spoke of Hezekiah’s religious reforms and as well of his successful attack on the Philistines. The Bible reports that when Hezekiah realized that King Sennacherib of Assyria was invading Israel, he ordered his men to block the Gihon springs that were flowing outside the city walls. They then dug a massive …

Christian doctors sue New Mexico over forced participation in assisted suicide

A group of doctors and dentists, who are part of the Christian Medical and Dental Association, are suing the state of New Mexico because of legislation forcing them to participate in assisted suicide. With the assistance of Alliance Defending Freedom, the group claims this is a violation of their freedom of religion. Under a law passed in 2021, New Mexico is requiring doctors to discuss assisted suicide and refer patients for such services even if they don’t agree with it. CBN reports that doctors who refuse to comply could not only lose their professional license, but even face “substantial criminal, civil, administrative, and professional liability.” This past September, a federal court ruled against the California government that was forcing doctors to do the same in that state. The court concluded that the law was unconstitutional as it violated the First Amendment right of doctors by forcing them to participate in an activity that violated their faith and conscience.
