Christian receives payout after being fired for not working on Sunday

A delivery company in Miami has been ordered to pay an unnamed employee $50,000 for firing him when he didn’t show up for work on Sunday. Tampa Bay Delivery Service LLC (TBDS), which partners with Amazon, was found guilty of religious discrimination. But there was a bit more to the story. According to the lawsuit, the employee had previously told TBDS that he was not available to work on Sunday because he was a Christian and attended church. But added that he was free to work on Saturdays. However, when the company scheduled the employee for a Sunday shift, he was fired after he didn’t show up. The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) took the case to court on behalf of the employee, who received $25,000 in compensatory damages and $25,000 in back pay. The EEOC noted that according to the Civil Rights Act of 1964 the government requires companies to reasonably accommodate a person’s sincerely held religious beliefs. The EEOC added that the company fully cooperated in resolving the issue and will be …

German citizens pay a ‘church tax’

Premier Christian News reports on an interesting story out of Germany about thousands of people leaving their faith because of the country’s ‘church tax.’ Germany is one of a handful of countries in the world, including Austria, Denmark, and Italy, that imposes a ‘worship’ or ‘church’ tax on its citizens. It is a form of income tax and depending on where a person lives, the tax can range from 8% of income in Baden-Württemberg and Bavaria to 9% in the remaining states. Since it was first implemented in 1919, German citizens pay the tax if they are registered as a member of a protestant and Catholic Church or as a member of the Jewish faith. This also includes anyone who has been christened or married in a German church. Churches, including Evangelical, can then apply to receive funding from the ‘worship tax’ and those eligible typically receive about 70% of their income from the state’s church tax. According to Simplegermany.com, in 2020, the German government paid out 12.1 billion Euros to protestant and Catholic churches. …

US BLM helps nonprofit purchase the former headquarters of the Communist Party of Canada

There is a strange story coming out of the US that the American-based Black Lives Matter (BLM) organization allegedly helped a Canadian organization, M4BJ, purchase the former headquarters of the Communist Party of Canada located in Toronto, Ontario. The old mansion, which is considered a heritage site, was purchased for $6.3 million. The Blaze writes: “M4BJ, a Toronto-based non-profit set up by Janaya Khan and other Canadian activists, snagged the 10,000 square foot historic property for the equivalent of $6.3 million in cash in July 2021,” the New York Post reported, noting that it had reviewed Toronto property records. The outlet reported that Black Lives Matter “transferred millions” to the M4BJ charity. Coincidentally, Khan is the wife of Patrisse Khan-Cullors – a co-founder of the Black Lives Matter Global Network Foundation. Cullors – a self-described “trained Marxist” –resigned from the Black Lives MatterGlobal Network Foundation in May after weeks of criticism surrounding the purchase of high-end real estate properties. This has many within the US organization wondering who is calling the shots in the BLM. Fox …

The Antichrist, 666, and … the Truck-Apocalypse

Are we at the end of the world? Did COVID and vaccine mandates start the beginning of the end? Are those Canadian truckers part of the new wave? Maybe. You have probably heard about the truck drivers in Canada who are protesting against government restrictions. The government claims that they are a small fringe group, and most of the population does not agree with them; they are a fringe minority expressing unacceptable views do not represent the majority. That is the common position for most of the media, and politicians. A recent opinion survey asked people in Canada what they thought about the protest convoy, and almost eighty percent claimed to support it. We have some trucks with flags and loud horns, where I live, and I saw some people on an overpass bridge with flags and signs, waiting for a local convoy to pass. There are reports, in some places, that the convoys stretched for miles. This is too big to ignore. READ: Trucker convoy: Blaring horns, cheers as hundreds descend on Parliament I …
