The mail got delivered despite a strange address that included ‘plays guitar + used to run disco at parochial hall’

The Toronto Sun had a story on how one person reported having a letter delivered to his home in Cushendall, Northern Ireland, with the following address written on the envelope. Basically, it was the man’s abbreviated biography:

Kathie Lee Gifford says westerners are too terrified of the ‘gifts of the Holy Spirit’

In an interview with Sheila Walsh, who hosts “Life Today,” Kathie Lee Gifford said that Americans are way too ‘terrified’ of the Gifts of the Holy Spirit. She added that we need to see how these gifts are operating in believers around the world to fully appreciate them. Gifford, who formerly hosted “Live! With Regis and Kathie Lee” suggested that while some Christians believe that the gifts of the Holy Spirit are not for today, this is not what the Bible teaches. “We’re all supposed to have gifts of the Spirit,” Gifford said. “They’re supposed to be different, used like different parts of the body for one good work, but we’re all supposed to use them. And people go, ‘Oh, Jesus doesn’t do that anymore, God doesn’t do that anymore.’ Really?” She pointed to a passage in the Gospel of John, where Jesus said that everyone who believes in Him will be able to perform the same miracles as the Lord did. “Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works …

‘NY Times’ warns that skiing is an endangered event, despite snowfall increasing

When it comes to Global Warming, we are absolutely involved in a propaganda war, where truth is being set aside in favour of alarmism. According to Wattsupwiththat, the latest example is The New York Times, which on Jan 7, 2022, had an article warning skiers that they must become involved in Climate activism because the snow is basically disappearing.

New Paganism: Are you ready for the new-old way?

Do you believe in Science? That is a popular new idea, especially in the fight against COVID. Do you believe in Shamanism? Or are you interested in Wiccan beliefs? Have you heard of the rise of New Paganism? The calls to believe are growing. Science: Some people talk about Science as a religion, something to believe in. In arguments about COVID and vaccinations, for example, someone might say “I believe in Science.” If they are talking to you, that probably means you are wrong. The problem with believing in science is that the Scientific Method, that directs scientific research, is a method of working and not a system to believe in. It was never meant to be the source of answers. A real scientist is a doubting skeptic who questions everything, including the commonly accepted answers to problems. Constant, restless searching leads to new ideas. In High School, I was one of the nerdy members of the science club, and this method was taught to us by our science teachers. We were supposed to always …

Survey: 80% of Evangelicals would like to see at least one change in their church

While a recent study conducted by Grey Matter Research and Infinity Concepts found that the majority (74%) of Evangelical church members are happy with their church, 80% would like to see at least one change. The survey of 1,000 Evangelical Christians asked them to provide their opinions on 14 areas of church services and culture. Only those who regularly attended a service or watched online were included in the survey results. The survey revealed the top five areas where people most wanted change: 38% of those surveyed were dissatisfied with the amount of outreach; 33% were not satisfied with the size of the congregation; 32% were not satisfied with the style of music 32% were dissatisfied with the amount of political messaging/involvement; and 31% were not satisfied with the amount of in-depth teaching. But though these top areas of concern seem straightforward, they actually aren’t. Infinity Concepts CEO, Mark Dreistadt, noted that even though nearly a third of churchgoers wanted changes in the style of music, 15% wanted more contemporary music, and 18% wanted more …

Canada: CBC’s shift to the radical left

The Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) is Canada’s state-owned and taxpayer-funded news outlet. Most Canadians look upon it as the official PR firm for Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. But a former producer for CBC, Tara Henley, who resigned this week, has come out with a scathing article stating she resigned from the network because of its radical shift to the left. When she started to work for CBC in 2013, Henley considered herself one of the more Liberal reporters in the newsroom, but eight years later, she was basically the most conservative, even though her views hadn’t changed. Fox News explains: “Henley, who identifies as a liberal herself, published her scathing resignation announcement on Substsack, detailing a newsroom stifled by far-left ideology that limits critical thinking and obsesses over race. In her piece, Henley blamed “a radical political agenda that originated on Ivy League campuses in the United States and spread through American social media platforms” whose proponents “monetize outrage and stoke societal divisions” for setting the tone of current media outlets such as the CBC. She …
