God’s Impossible Standards

Why does God have such impossible standards? No one can live up to them. Take the end of 2nd Corinthians chapter 10, verse 5 for example. It says to take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ. I don’t know about you, but I can’t do this. I don’t know anyone who can do this. Even Peter, the rock upon whom the Christian church was formed, couldn’t do it. Almost everyone knows the time he denied Christ, shortly after claiming he would die for him. You can read about this in Luke chapter 22. So, if Peter couldn’t meet the standards of God, how can we? The law God gave the Israelites in the Old Testament was a huge burden to them, and they just couldn’t live up to it. That’s why they had rituals and sacrifices to purify themselves from their breaking of the law and sinning against God and each other. That law was put into effect by God to show the Israelites their need for salvation. They could not be righteous on …

Canadian pastor released from jail

Tim Stephens pastors Fairview Baptist Church in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. He was just released this past weekend after spending two weeks in jail after Calgary police used a helicopter to track down where pastor Stephens was holding an outdoor church service. On June 5, 2021, the Alberta Health Services (AHS) seized the church’s property and posted messages on its doors banning indoor services when Stephens refused to comply with Alberta’s health orders limiting church services. As Stephens noted in his tweet, the same week AHS issued the ban, photos surfaced of several senior Alberta officials breaking the COVID restrictions. As a result of that action, Stephens decided to hold services outdoors, which resulted in him being arrested in front of his children on June 14, 2021 on behalf of the AHS. After hearing of the arrest US Senator, Josh Hawley of Missouri, approached the U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom asking it to put Canada on its watch list. “I am troubled that our Canadian neighbors are effectively being forced to gather in secret, undisclosed locations …

Corporate greed or government incompetence

The left-wing mayor of New York City, Bill de Blasio, the one who believes the best way to reduce crime is by cutting $1 billion from the police budget, never misses an opportunity to bash capitalism. And when an oil leak in a pipeline in the Gulf of Mexico caught fire resulted in stunning images of a swirling surface fire, the Democrat mayor was quick to blame corporate greed for the problem.

Those burning churches: Who should we blame?

I was in an online discussion group that I join sometimes, and one man from Russia joined us. Most of us live in Canada, and the Russian man was very unhappy that a church had been burned, close to where I live. That’s what he knew about us. I looked up the news story, and I am surprised. An old and historic Catholic church was burned, in a town called Morinville. I know the town well and I have driven past that old church many times. Many leaders have spoken against the church burning. There has also been a request for the Pope to apologize: READ: Politicians, Indigenous leaders say burning churches not the way to get justice It is easy to understand the concern. The news story about children buried near their boarding schools was carefully managed. Someone has been gathering evidence for months, and probably for years. When they had the right information, they chose the time and method to publish what they had found. I’m not criticizing them, I respect their skill …

Is Communist China’s new digital currency a sign of the times?

According to a former executive director with the World Bank, Erik Bethel, Communist China is on the verge of creating a digital version of its currency (official called renminbi but popularly referred to as the yuan) that could result in the regime going cashless in the near future. It will be the world’s first government-backed digital currency. In an interview with CBN, Bethel states the regime’s digital currency, similar to the Bitcoin, will be controlled by the country’s national bank, the People’s Bank of China. As part of its testing phase, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) will soon release $6 million dollars to its citizens that can use one of two apps approved by the CCP to make purchases. It is believed that the communist regime is preparing for a full launch of its digital coin in time for the 2022 Winter Olympics. Once this process starts, the CCP will have full access to people’s spending 24/7. Many believe the move is just another step in the Communist regime’s attempt to regulate and moderate the …

New York: Who is really to blame?

When New Yorkers aren’t enjoying a crime wave, they are now enjoying a heat wave as the state initiated rolling blackouts and the government urged residents to cut back on electricity use. RELATED: Creep caught on video tackling woman and groping her in broad daylight in Brooklyn AND Man drags woman into Bronx woods, strangles her in broad daylight: cops Of course, the left wing pundits quickly blamed climate change for the problem, but could there be another reason for these blackouts, perhaps a political one? Say, prematurely shutting down the Indian Point Energy Center, a three unit nuclear power plant, on April 30, 2021. In fact, two days before Democrat Gov Cuomo shut down the plant, the New York Post was already predicting rolling electrical blackouts this summer. READ: Get ready for blackouts after Cuomo foolishly killed the Indian Point plant These are the same bunch of politicians who cut police funding to reduce crime and sent people with COVID to nursing homes to stop the spread of COVID. God told her ‘just focus on me’ & McLaughlin sets world record in hurdles

Sydney McLaughlin, 21, is a sprinter and hurdler for America’s Olympic team and during the trials leading up to the 2021 Olympic Games in Tokyo, McLaughlin broke the world record for the 400-meter hurdle trials with a time of 51.90 seconds. She is the first woman to ever run this event in under 52 seconds. She broke the world record held by fellow teammate, Delilah Muhammad, who ran the event in 52.16 seconds in 2019. In an interview after the record-breaking run, McLaughlin stated that it was her faith in God that contributed to her success, stating that as she was training, God told her to “just focus on Me.” In a post on Instagram after her run, McLaughlin wrote: “My faith was being tested all week. From bad practices, to 3 false start delays, to a meet delay. I just kept hearing God say, ‘Just focus on me.’ It was the best race plan I could have ever assembled. I no longer run for self recognition, but to reflect His perfect will that is …

Poll: 40% of San Francisco residents plan to leave the city?

A recent poll of people living in San Francisco by the city’s Chamber of Commerce indicates they are tiring of the woke politics that has governed the city for the past several years. It has gotten so bad that 40% of those surveyed said they are planning to leave the city over the next few years. The two major problems leading to this decision are the city’s rapidly deteriorating homelessness problem, and its rising crime rates. Earlier this year, the city council voted to defund its police force by $120 million, while in May, the San Francisco police department reported that car burglaries in May were up 753% over May of last year. The city’s homelessness problem has gotten so bad that city residents state it is now the city’s number one problem, as homeless people are now openly taking drugs and defecating on the streets, forcing the city to set up a ‘feces patrol’ to keep the streets clean. The poll revealed: 80% of residents say that crime has increased. 70% stated that the …
