Will police be raiding homes over Christmas?

This is disturbing, but according to reports, police in Britain are warning that they will be invading people’s homes over Christmas if they are suspected of breaking the COVID rules. There are different rules across Britain depending on what lockdown tier is in place. Some areas, like the Midlands, don’t allow visits from people outside the immediate family. Other areas allow mixed groups to a maximum of six. The Daily Mail explains: Police chiefs have warned that Christmas family celebrations will be broken up by officers if they flout lockdown rules. David Jamieson, the West Midlands police and crime commissioner, said officers will investigate reports of rule-breaking over the festive period. The West Midlands are currently under Tier 2 restrictions, meaning people cannot mix with any other households or bubbles inside. Unite my mind

I was reading a curious story in the Daily Mail that was discussing the recent discovery of a two-headed snake in Florida and it reminded me of a verse in the Psalms. The Rogers’ family found the Southern black racer snake slithering around their home that was under construction. The snake was suffering from a rare condition called bicephaly which is caused when an embryo that was splitting, and would have resulted in identical twins, didn’t fully separate. Instead, the snake ended up with one body, but two completely separate and independently functioning heads and brains. At this point, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) stepped in and brought the snake to its conservatory where it could be looked after. They believed the snake wouldn’t survive in the wild over the long term because it had two heads and two minds, that resulted in divided thinking. The two heads were seeing the same things, but making different decisions. The Daily Mail writes: Officials say the snake will remain in captivity because it makes different decisions …

Philly: ‘Every city, every town, burn the precincts to the ground’

Last night was the second night of peaceful riots in Philadelphia, after police shot Walter Wallace Jr who was allegedly approaching them with a drawn knife. Wallace died after being taken to hospital. During the protests, the peaceful rioters were chanting, “Every city, every town, burn the precincts to the ground.” The Blaze reports: Black Lives Matter protesters in Philadelphia were recorded reciting a violent anti-police chant during the second night of rioting over the deadly police shooting of Walter Wallace Jr. on Monday. Calling all Americans to take back our constitutional freedoms The protesters’ chant was recorded by Blaze TV reporter Elijah Schaffer, who was told to stop recording shortly after capturing the video. “Every city, every town, burn the precincts to the ground!” They chanted on the video before the frame jerks as an Antifa girl hits his camera. She is heard saying, “Stop filming!” READ: BLM protesters chant ‘Every city, every town, burn the precincts to the ground!’ as second night of Philadelphia riots erupt During the first night of peaceful riots, …

Did Luke Bernard’s healing involve ‘battering’ prayer?

Doctors told the family of actor Luke Benjamin Bernard, 25, that it would be a miracle if he survived his serious car accident in a vegetative state. Bernard came from a Christian home and in a podcast on Pureflix, Bernard shared his story of what happened after a serious car accident in 2013. When he arrived at hospital, doctors classified him as level 3 on the Glasgow Coma Scale. His pupils were dilated and fixed and doctors told his family to get to the hospital as soon as possible fearing death was imminent. However, his Christian parents would not accept his death sentence. They began praying for their son, and Bernard explained the two important elements of their prayer that led to his miracle recovery. First, he says it was persistent prayer “Basically, they did the best thing they could for me … and the only thing they could have done was — they prayed. They read scriptures, they sang praise … at my bedside again and again and again.” Secondly, he says it was …

Surrender?

No one wants to give up. Books have been written about not giving up. Movies have been made celebrating the human strength. Songs, like Never Surrender, by Corey Hart, tell us to not back down. The world thinks surrender is giving up. I know it as getting up. Surrender is not a sign of weakness but it is a measure of strength. Jesus came to give us life in the fullest (John 10:10). To get this, we have to surrender our will to His will. This takes guts. But if you really want to live, it is such a necessary and rewarding thing to do. A surrendered life is a life lived. Proverbs 3: 5-6 says: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show which path to take.” This means you have to surrender your understanding, your will, to God’s understanding and God’s will. Ultimately, there are two ways to go in life. Just two. Your way …
