Most of my dreams, I forget as I wake up; Pizza dreams, just my brain house cleaning while I sleep. As someone who has been involved in prophetic ministry for years, I also get dreams that I believe come from God.

They are clear and to the point and are intended to encourage the Body of Christ.

Early in March 2026, I had one of those dreams.

In this dream, I seemed to be above and behind the main characters. It seemed to be the Sea of Galilee and right at the shore in the first century.

I saw our Lord standing with His back to the lake and His heels almost in the water. Jesus seemed to be interacting with several of His followers, especially the men.

Looking down I could see the shore, sand, gravel, dirt and sea weeds. It looked gross, not the kind of place to drop something small and valuable, right at the water’s edge.

Peter who was further down the shore walks up to Jesus to talk with Him, Peter is clearly upset. It seems that he is busy with his boat and being a disciple of Christ. But the last straw seems to have come from Peter’s wife, who wants Peter to fix the family BBQ.

Yes, I said BBQ, right out there on the shore. It was a modern, black, propane BBQ, just like the one on my back deck,

Peter was very upset, because there was too much on his plate.

Jesus calmly offered to repair it for Peter, to lessen his load. Now Peter was even more upset. (It seemed his manhood, male ego, was offended.)

It’s my problem, I’ll fix it,” Peter quipped.

Jesus did not force the issue, but calmly offered again to lighten Peter’s load. Peter finally gave in and handed the BBQ over to Christ.

Yes Lord, fix it,” Peter said, and then walked away in huff.

Next, right there on the rough ground on the edge of the water, Jesus starts to take the whole BBQ apart, piece by piece. The men around Christ, looked on and cringed as the Lord put the smallest bolts and nuts into the sand. Soon the BBQ was completely in pieces all over the shore.

At this point, Peter came back to check on the progress and he hit the roof.

He informed the Lord, that no self respecting male would repair a BBQ on the beach, take it completely apart, and have tiny parts getting lost in the sand. It is ridiculous.

Now Peter was angry. That is not how he would fix it.

Just fix what’s wrong,” Peter said, “and not here!

Finally Jesus responded with a loving, but firm voice.

Peter, when you turn something over to me to fix; Let me do it My way,” Jesus said.

Again, Peter walked away, still upset. Jesus went back to work and quickly finished the job. It was all back together and working perfectly.

Peter soon came back and others joined in to see the ‘perfect job.’ All were stunned and amazed as Jesus calmly pointed out the lesson for them.

When we turn our messes and our brokenness over to God we need to do two things:

First we need to let God fix it His way, even when it seems crazy.

Secondly, this part was the one that broke me up. Not one small part was lost. What was trusted into the Lord’s hand would not fall out and be lost.
