How much do you know about the concept of Evolution as the source of life? We all know who Charles Darwin is, and we used to call his concept the “Theory of Evolution.”

Be careful with that word “Theory.” Many scientists and science teachers are sure that Darwin’s model is no longer a theory. It is commonly taught that Darwin’s model of Evolution as the source of life is a proven fact.

For modern science, something emerged from nothing, by chance, and that original something has since evolved into all life forms. 

Human evolution is a part of this model. According to the most orthodox model of human evolution, modern humans, like us, evolved into a separate species about one hundred thousand years ago. Before that time, early human ancestors were related to apes, and if we go back far enough, our human ancestors were apes.

I am writing as a Christian, and I am very sure that the story of our origin is a creation story, with a powerful and intelligent God who made all living things.

Charles Darwin made a model that is now the foundation of Atheism.

Did you know. Charles Darwin is described as a “Naturalist” but his father sent him to Cambridge University where he received training to be a minister of the Church of England. “Naturalist” was not in his university education, but Christian Theologian was. 

So, we seem to be trapped in an endless struggle between Atheist Evolutionists and Christian Believers. It seems we can’t have one without the other.

Some critics claim that Darwin’s model is like a religious cult of Christianity.

If you read some of the critical comments attached to the video, there is a common theme; So, who made God? If something cannot come from nothing, then how did God appear? God is someone. 

It’s a circular argument and both sides cancel each other.

1. Complex life, in the universe, cannot come from nothing. And, on the other side,
2. God cannot come from nothing, if we accept the argument because God is complex life.

So, neither side can win the two sided argument.

Scientists are Questioning Evolution

But did you know, modern scientists are beginning to question Darwin’s original model. Some don’t see it as truth that can never be questioned.

Darwin himself was concerned about missing links. He didn’t see evidence for a change in plants, from fungus, seaweed, and moss to plants with flowers and seeds and fruit.

Other experts have questioned how honey bees evolved. The bees need flowers with nectar, and the flowers need bees to fertilize other flowers with pollen. One could not evolve without the other, and probably one could not come first.

It’s like the old question “Which came first, the chicken or the egg?” 

The Problem of Human Evolution

Also, researchers now claim that they are finding remains of human beings like us, homo sapiens, in Africa. The problem, for human evolutionists, is that the fossils seem to be about three hundred thousand years old.

That puts human beings like us, fully formed, in a time when humans were supposed to be only apes still living in trees.

If the new evidence is correct, the whole model of human evolution, from apes to humans, must be reconsidered.

These are complex arguments:

The Uniformitarian Problem

There is also a problem with statistics, as our knowledge of the ancient Earth increases. Darwin was sure that the Earth was “Uniformitarian” which means it was always like it is now. The climate was stable and conditions were the same for billions of years. That allowed for life to evolve without interruption in a kind of ‘Laboratory’ Earth. 

Now we have models showing a huge asteroid that struck the Earth near Mexico, and killed off the dinosaurs. We also have records of many other extinction events that interrupted life on Earth, and they must have interrupted Darwin’s gradual evolution.

These are natural catastrophes, and “Catastrophism” makes Darwin’s model unlikely, and maybe even impossible. Note that our interest in Climate Change is a contradiction of Darwin’s model of Evolution. A climate disaster is another extinction event that will interrupt gradual evolution.

Statistically, Darwin’s model has some new problems:

The result of modern science is that we must all be believers, who choose what we want to follow. No system or model can be proven so much that it can never be questioned. Atheists, Christians, and everyone else in the world is left with one option; Trust and Obey.

If someone asked me, as a Christian, to prove without a doubt that God exists, I know I could not do that. God has to prove that God exists.

We can only choose to believe. We each make ourselves into the person that we are, and we choose our own destiny.

There is an old story in the Bible, about a man who saw something that he believed was power from God. When he spoke to Christian teachers, they did not offer proof. They told him to believe:

He brought them outside and asked, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved? They replied, “Believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved, you and your household.” Then they spoke the word of the Lord to him, along with all those who were in his house. (Acts 16: 30 to 32)

I hope we can all learn this lesson in reality.
