Reports coming in from around the world on how the Holy Spirit is moving and people are being drawn to faith. But along with this, there are also reports of a rise of satanism that was openly displayed at a recent soccer match in Germany.
First the Good News
The good is evidenced by churches reporting record attendance at Easter Sunday services in 2025. Along with this, many people embraced Christ during these services, CBN reports.
It was happening at mega churches such as Prestonwood Baptist Church in North Texas, where senior Pastor Jack Graham wondered if this is an indicator that something even bigger is stirring.
“It’s more than the usual high attendance at Easter…we are seeing the fires of revival burning and are on the cusp of Spiritual Awakening. Young men in particular are experiencing a hunger for God ….it is a Jesus movement in the making,” Pastor Graham noted on X.
It was also taking place in California, where Greg Laurie pastors Harvest Christian Fellowship, based in Riverside, California.
But not only were mega churches reporting a surge in attendance, so were small town churches. Trinity Southern Baptist Church is located in Falmouth, Kentucky, which only has. a population of 2,000. They had a record 700 people pack their service on Resurrection Sunday.
There are also reports of the Holy Spirit moving in Britain where a recent study revealed there has been a surge in church attendance over the past four years. That renewed interest in the Christian faith showed up again on Easter Sunday.
Now for the Ugly
But while all this was happening, a bizarre incident took place on March 29, 2025 at a soccer match in Germany, Charisma News reports. It involved a game between the FC Kaiserslautern Red Devils and Fortuna Düsseldorf at the Fritz Walter Stadium in Kaiserslautern, Germany.
During the game, the Red Devil fans went beyond the pale of showing support for their team to actually embracing Lucifer. The fans not only formed a Red pentagram in the crowd, they unfurled two large banners with words written in Latin promoting the satanic realm. Some have suggested the Latin was mocking the traditional Catholic service.
One banner seemed to call for the rise of the antichrist asking Satan to “Draw us to the light, rule over the world, rise from the flames and appear.” The second banner was even more disturbing and asked satan to “rise from the abyss” and “accept our souls.”
Former Episcopal priest and Catholic commentator Dr. Taylor Marshall called it a form of satanic liturgy, where people were asking Lucifer to take their souls which he described as “really sinful.”
“I don’t know what’s going on,” said Marshall. “Seems like you got Luciferian satanic stuff happening every single day, and honestly, I’m kind of tired of covering it.”
Marshall then added “If you ever caught the devil by his ankle and turned it over, on the bottom of his boot, it would say: ‘Made in Germany.’”
The world is getting stranger by the day and believers need to brace themselves for the looming spiritual battle. As Christians, must enter this battle with the understanding we have the ultimate victory in Christ.
“Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” (James 4:7 ESV)
