While governments push electric vehicles on their citizens, with some even setting end dates for the purchase of new gas vehicles, Americans who own EVs are having second thoughts about their purchase, Fox News reports.
According to a survey conducted by McKinsey & Co., 46% of those who now own an electric vehicle in the US stated that they were ‘very likely’ to replace it with a gas-powered car on their next purchase.
The three main reasons for abandoning EVS were:
- 35% cited a lack of charging stations, particularly on highways;
- 34% reported on the overall cost of owning an EV, including the cost of purchase, maintenance, repair, insurance, and electricity; and
- 32% complained about the inconvenience of driving an EV, particularly on longer journeys.
