Feet of new born baby wrapped in mother's hand

If I am honest, it has been discouraging watching the gift of prophecy being battered and mocked because of the dozens of false prophecies stating that Donald Trump would be reelected as President of the United States back in 2020.

I believe in this gift because several years back, my wife and I briefly attended a church, led by what I would describe as a prophet.

We had been involved in a church that had gone through some extremely difficult times but had moved to another city because of work.

During the first service at this new church, my wife and I received a prophetic word from the man. It so accurately described what had happened to us in our previous setting, that I felt he must have had inside knowledge about our previous situation.

The next week, I actually phoned people in our previous church to see if anyone knew or had spoken to this man.

The following Sunday, we returned to the church and something unusual happened. This prophet had received a second word for us, but this time it was different. Instead of talking about what had happened to us in the past, it involved a specific incident that would take place with my wife and me in the future.

It came to pass exactly as he said it would, and if I had played the prophecy for those involved, they would have known that they had done exactly as he had prophesied they would. (Note: it wasn’t a negative thing).

The fulfillment of this second word helped my wife and I embrace the healing that was given to us through the first prophetic word.

So, I know first-hand the gift of prophecy is real, and when I see instances of this important gift at work, I feel compelled to share them.

Jonathan and Melissa Helser are in full-time ministry today, serving as worship leaders with a worldwide outreach, because of a prophetic word.

As part of their ministry, they also founded the Cageless Bird Collective, a gospel community that spreads the news about Jesus through crafts and songs, Christian Learning reports.

However, according to Jonathan’s father, Ken, without God’s intervention through the gift of prophecy, there was a real chance that Jonathan would never have been born.

Shortly after Jonathan was conceived, Ken’s wife Linda was diagnosed with uterine cancer. The doctors stated that the only solution was a hysterectomy, which would terminate the life of their unborn child.

Since they already had two girls, they were seriously considering going through with the procedure for the sake of Linda.

However, two weeks before the scheduled operation, Ken received a prophetic word from a teacher at the church they attended.

“I want you to tell him [Ken] first that I’ve healed his seed,” the teacher said. “And he will have a son, and his name will be Jonathan David. He will play the harp, he will sing like an angel, and he will write prophetic songs for his generation. And his music will go out all over the world.”

This prophetic word not only stated that there would be no danger in having their baby, but that they would have a boy, who, similar to the prophet Jeremiah, God had called to the ministry while in the womb (Jeremiah 1:5).

Having received this word, they struggled with what to do next.

But over the next couple of days, this promise of a son began to grow in Ken’s heart. After he and his wife prayed about the situation, they decided to ask the gynecologist to do one additional test before Linda went under the knife.

A few days later, they received this incredible news:

“The doctor came down the hall whistling,” Ken recalled. “We said that’s a good sign. He stuck his head in the door and said, ‘The pathologist is baffled. He’s consulted me three times and said this is not the same woman. He and your wife are 200% okay.’”
