A recent poll conducted by Suffolk University/USA TODAY found that 36.9% of Americans believe that humans did not evolve from apes but were created by God, the Christian Post reports.

A further 24.3%, who held that humans had evolved, believed that God directed the evolutionary process.

This means that over 61% of Americans believe that God was solely or partially responsible for the creation of humans.

When it came to supporting evolution as the exclusive reason for the rise of humans, only 28.6% of Americans believed that evolution was solely responsible.

The poll that included people from every state in America was conducted between Oct. 17-20, 2023.
