In an interview with the National Post, Irwin Colter, Canada’s Special Envoy on Preserving Holocaust Remembrance and Combatting Antisemitism, provided a breakdown of the growing antisemitism in the world.

Ironically, the interview took place, the day before Hamas’ brutal invasion of Israel.

Colter pointed to six things that are concerning him:

  1. The number of antisemitism incidents around the world is at its highest peak since these incidents were first tracked in the seventies. RELATED: Antisemitic incidents in the US are at the highest level recorded since the 1970s
  2. The number of people who believe antisemitic lies such as the Jews control the media has doubled.
  3. Antisemitism has been marginalized. He said when governments talk about discrimination, they refer to many groups, but when talking about racism and hatred, they no longer mention what is happening to the Jews.
  4. Antisemitism has gone international. Colter pointed to a parade that took place in England in May 2021, where people were displaying signs that read the Jews will rape your daughters. These types of signs are showing up at protests around the world. RELATED‘Reprehensible’ anti-Israel protestors chant ‘gas the Jews’ outside Sydney Opera House: video
  5. Antisemitism has gone undercover and is lurking within antiracist groups. He pointed to the recent grant given out by a Canadian anti-racist agency to an individual “who was not only anti-Jewish but anti-Francophone, anti-Indigenous.” RELATED: Biden Tapped This Group to Fight Anti-Semitism. It’s Defending Hamas’s Attack on Israel.
  6. In the past, antisemitism used to be an extremist view, but now he says it has moved into the mainstream with politicians, universities, and the media now embracing it. RELATED: WATCH: Squad Member Rashida Tlaib Won’t Condemn Hamas Chopping Off Babies’ Heads
