One million born-again Jews worldwide, study reports

According to an article on by Joel Rosenberg, on All Israel website, it is estimated that there are approximately one million Jews around the world who have become Christians by putting their faith in Christ. This is based on a study by Lifeway, that found there are approximately 871,000 people of Jewish descent in America who believe Jesus is the Jewish Messiah. In addition, a study by Dr. Erez Soref, Israel College of the Bible, estimates there are about 30,000 Messianic Jews living in Israel. This puts the number of Messianic Jews in these two countries at around 900,000. According to World Population Review (WPR), there are approximately 15 million Jews worldwide, though some estimate the number could be over 17 million. The disagreement on the size of the Jewish population stems from how a person defines a Jew, which is traditionally determined by being born to a Jewish mother. In 2022, WPR reports there are 6.8 million Jews living in Israel and 5.7 million living in the US, but WPR notes on its website …

Jewish supporters attacked in Canada

There were two protests in Toronto’s Nathan Philips Square on Saturday, May 22, 2021. One involved a larger crowd of about 5,000 people who were there to protest Israel’s retaliatory strikes against the terrorist organization, Hamas, that controls the Gaza Strip. There was also a smaller group supporting Israel’s right to defend itself in the current conflict.

All Israel will be saved?

I recently read an article on Charisma News by Ron Cantor, a Messianic Jew living and ministering in Israel of how Jews are starting to accept Christ as their Messiah. Israel has a population of just over nine million people with nearly 75% Jewish, 17% Muslim and the remainder a mixture of Christian 2%, Druze 1.7% (Arab non-Muslims) and others. According to Cantor, there are about 200 Messianic congregations in Israel with over 20,000 people attending. These are Jews who believe Jesus is the Jewish Messiah and are in addition to non-Jewish Christians living in Israel. But the purpose of Cantor’s article was to report on a shift he believes is taking place in Israel. Cantor points out that Paul writes in Romans 11:25 that there was a “partial hardening” of the Jew’s heart, that led to a powerful move of God among the gentiles. During Paul’s ministry, there came a moment when he purposefully shifted his ministry to the gentiles. That took place at Corinth. When Paul arrived, as was his tradition, he went …

There are no racial barriers in God’s church

I don’t think we fully appreciate the significance of what happened when the Holy Spirit fell upon a group of gentiles as Peter was preaching in the house of Cornelius (Acts 10:44-48). It took a vision for Peter, where God declared a number of animals clean, and an angelic visit for Cornelius to get these two groups together. After the Holy Spirit fell, it caused such a controversy in the early church they called a meeting to figure out what do to with the hundreds of gentiles becoming Christians. But a few Bible verses and even archaeology provide a hint of what a radical change this was for the early church that was initially made up of solely Jews. In 1871 a stone slab from the Jewish Temple that existed in Jesus day was discovered by archaeologist Charles Clermont-Ganneau. On the slab written in Greek was: “No foreigner is allowed to enter the courtyard and enclosure surrounding the temple. Whoever is caught will be responsible to himself for his death, which will ensue.” Greek was …

Who do British Jews consider their biggest threats?

Using YouGov, a survey company, the British organization Campaign Against Antisemitism (CAA) has conducted an annual survey of English attitudes towards Jews since 2015. Perhaps the most disturbing fact to come out of this year’s survey is that over the past two years a third of the Jews living in England had considered leaving due to the growing antisemitism in that country. The survey also found that 25% do not believe Jews have a long-term future in England with a further 21% stating they were uncertain. However, this was still better than what they see going on across the English Channel when 35% said they did not believe Jews have a long-term future in Europe and 24% stating they were unsure. This is certainly paving the way for further Jewish migration to Israel, an event prophesied in the Old Testament centuries earlier: 3 “Then I Myself will gather the remnant of My flock out of all the countries where I have driven them and bring them back to their pasture… (Jeremiah 23:3 NASV) Perhaps not surprisingly …

Is Paul’s prediction that all of Israel would be saved on the verge of happening?

Sid Roth is an American Messianic Jew. He started a ministry focused on the super natural working of the Holy Spirit. Though he ministers to all ethnic groups, his focus has been to the Jews first (Romans 1:16). He recently reported on a major move of God among the Jewish community in Odessa, Ukraine. With a population of one million, Odessa is the Ukraine’s fourth largest city. Located on the Baltic Sea it is the provincial capital of Odessa Oblast. There are about 12,400 Jews living there today. But historically, Odessa was home to a large Jewish population. Prior to the start of World War II, the city had 201,000 Jews — then about 30% of the population. Thousands died in Nazi concentration camps during the war and after it ended most remaining Odessa Jews immigrated to Israel. According to his website, Roth described the recent one-day event as the most successful outreach he has ever experienced in evangelistic meetings geared towards a Jewish audience. Is there a connection between the Jewish festival of Purim, Kristallnacht and ‘Umeå Against Nazism?’

Israeli media outlet, Artutz Sheva 7, reports that organizers of Sweden’s Umeå Against Nazism have told Jews not to attend this year’s memorial held last week.  Umeå is the 12th largest city in Sweden and the event is sponsored by its city council. It was intended to remember Nazi Germany’s Kristallnacht (in English the Night of the Broken Glass), when Nazi Brown Shirts initiated a coördinated attack against Jews in both Austria and Germany over the night and morning of November 9-10, 1938. Many believe this marked the start of the Nazi holocaust where they exterminated six million Jews in concentration camps. The Swedish event has been celebrated for years to protest antisemitism. However, for the first time this year’s organizers have decided not to invite the Jews. Pro Palestinian groups — Muslim extremists, leftist and union organizations — have hijacked the event and are using it to promote their antisemitic and anti-Israel opinions. The problem of the Jewish Messiah and the Temple

As they did in Jesus day, many Orthodox Jews reject Jesus as the Jewish Messiah. Even today they still await their Messiah’s coming. In the Old Testament, there were a number of prophecies that spoke of the Messiah and Jesus fulfilled them all including being born in Bethlehem (Micah 5:2) and even riding on a donkey (Zechariah 9:9). But there is one prophecy from the Book of Daniel that is very problematic for the Jews and it involved a prophecy about the Messiah and the Temple. In some ways it explains the love hate relationship Jesus had with the Temple. On one hand Jesus cleansed the Temple by taking a whip and driving out the money changers claiming it was supposed to be a House of prayer (Matthew 21:12-17). But Jesus also prophesied the Temple’s destruction telling His disciples that not even one stone would be left standing on another (Matthew 24:1-2). In the end, it would be Jesus’ public statements about the Temple that got Him into trouble with the ruling class. After Jesus …

An Orthodox Jew Allied with Evangelical Christians

“You believe that because you are an Orthodox Jew allied with Evangelical Christians.” Those words offend many people, especially Jews and Christians. Recently a Jewish man named Steve Maman, originally from Morocco, was interviewed by the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC). The interview was in Montreal, and in French. The CBC is the state funded broadcaster in Canada. Also note, this is an election year in Canada and people are choosing sides. Steve Maman represents a charity that rescues women from terrible slavery under ISIS in the Middle East. He identifies the female victims as Yazidi and Christian. Most of the world believes he is a good man doing a good thing. To me, the CBC is bland and boring, a government-funded news source that never takes sides. It’s an expense for the taxpayers, and financial cuts are always possible. A brief interview in French, about an obscure charity, could not go wrong, but it did. As Jewish worshipers were ending their sabbath early Sunday morning, March 22, 2015, an angry mob of 20 people attacked the synagogue. Nothing new here, as extremists have launched attacks against Jews for decades. But what is different is the location. The Ahavas Torah synagogue is found in London, England. Shortly after 1 am Sunday morning, a drunken group stormed the synagogue screaming “kill the Jews.” Inside the Jews struggled to hold them back, some picking up chairs to defend themselves.  A couple of Jews were hurt, windows smashed and the synagogue vandalized.

Was the Dome on the Rock originally built for the Jews?

The Dome of the Rock has dominated the Jerusalem landscape for centuries. The Muslims use the Dome, built on the Temple mount between 689 – 691 AD, as a mosque. However, at the time of its construction, it was actually patterned off Byzantine churches in the area and evidence suggests it was originally intended as a Jewish building, not a Muslim one. The Dome, which is maintained by the Jordan government, is probably the most recognizable building in Jerusalem. Though Muslims allow limited visits to the Dome, they do not allow any type of religious expression to take place, other than Islam. As a result,  Jews have taken to praying at the wall.

The Nazi poster girl for the Aryan race was actually Jewish

In a bizarre twist the poster child for Nazi Germany’s “Perfect Aryan Baby” during World War II was actually Jewish. The Nazis believed Aryans were the superior race and considered other groups such as the Jews, as sub-human. The Nazis used the photo to promote its supremest race agenda. Hessy Taft was just six months old in 1935, when her mother, Pauline Levinsons, took her to a famous German photographer Hans Ballin for a baby photo. Unknown to the family, Ballin later submitted Taft’s photo to a contest initiated by the Nazi party to find the perfect Aryan baby. It appears that Joseph Goebbels, the Nazi party’s propaganda minister, chose Hessy’s photo as the winning picture. The photo would later appear on posters, post cards and other Nazi propaganda materials.

We all know about the violence of the Middle East, the news gets worse every day. We also know how the Jews in Israel get blamed for some evil conspiracy when anything happens. This is a story about Jews and Arabs in another part of the world, and a different “Jewish conspiracy.” My home town of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada has some notable facts attached to it. Early in the previous century Edmonton emerged as the leading center in the world for the fur trade. More furs passed through Edmonton than anywhere else in the world. Around that time a school teacher named J. Percy Page started a girls’ basketball team. The Edmonton Grads went on to become world champions in women’s basketball from 1924, and swept four Olympic Games between 1924 and 1936. Also at that time, a few Lebanese fur traders moved to the region and built the first mosque in Canada. Muslims claim ‘Superman’ is a Jewish conspiracy

A Hezbollah TV station based in Lebanon, Al-Manar, recently claimed ‘Superman’ is a Jewish conspiracy. And it’s not just ‘Superman,’ but this applies to all superheroes. According to Israel today, in a report that aired the last week of February 2014, Al-Manar stated Jews created Superman to take “over the world’s greatest power, controlling all aspects of her daily life and harnessing it in service to Jewish interests all over the world.”

Has Jerusalem’s house of sedition been discovered?

Believe it or not, the discovery of a bath tub in an ancient building in Jerusalem has archaeologists wondering if they stumbled upon the house of the High Priest Caiaphas. Caiaphas and his home played a major role in Jesus’ crucifixion. The find occurred during a dig on Mount Zion by a team of archaeologists from the University of North Carolina. During the excavation, the group came upon a large palace-type home. Its size plus other features suggest it housed a significant player in Jerusalem’s ruling class in Jesus’ day. They estimate the mansion had upwards of 20 rooms over several floors. Oddly, one of the clues that sparked this conclusion was the discovery of an indoor bathroom complete with a bathtub — a rarity for this time.
