According to Christian Headlines, Sound of Freedom is now the number one most-watched movie in 19 countries, as the movie based on a former Homeland Security agent’s fight against child sex trafficking was released to international audiences starting in August.

Eighteen of the countries are in Latin America and include, Mexico, El Salvador, Guatemala, Costa Rica, Honduras, Colombia, Nicaragua, Panama, Ecuador, Venezuela, Peru, Paraguay, Argentina, Bolivia, Belize, the Dominican Republic, Chile, and Uruguay.

The other country where it currently holds the number one spot is New Zealand and the movie is the second most-watched movie in South Africa and Australia and is number four in Britain.

“We’re seeing packed theaters, standing ovations, widespread enthusiasm, and strong word-of-mouth from Buenos Aires to Mexico City to Bogota to Caracas, Lima, and beyond,” said Jared Geesey, Angel Studios’ chief distribution officer.

Sound of Freedom, which received a lot of negative press from the mainstream media, grossed over $183 million in America out-performing Hollywood blockbusters such as Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, and Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One in the US market.
