One of America’s most popular political commentators, Tucker Carlson, recently stated that he has started reading the Bible this year, and he has become aware of “man’s sinfulness, God’s sovereignty, and humanity’s role in the world,” Christian Headlines reports.

He went on to describe it as “the most interesting thing I think I’ve ever done.”

Carlson, 54, who once hosted a popular political commentary on Fox News made the statement at the Family Leadership Summit held in Des Moines, Iowa on July 14, 2023.

He started reading the Bible as part of Lent this past February. He added that he was raised Episcopalian, but hasn’t been a particularly faithful one.

The first thing he noticed is that aside from Jesus Christ, all the major leaders in the Bible were flawed.

“With the exception of Jesus, every figure is like really flawed,” Carlson said. “Like, flawed in a way where you’d be like, ‘I don’t know if I can be friends with that person.”

He cited an incident with Abraham who lied about Sarah being his sister. When he told his wife about the story, she answered, “Maybe the point is that God takes people who are not perfect people … and uses them for these grander purposes.”

Another thing that stuck out for Carlson is that God is in control. Though men have a freewill and can do what they want, in the end, God is ultimately the one in charge and moving through human affairs.

Since his release from Fox News, Carlson is now broadcasting his commentaries on Twitter.
