Several media outlets are now starting to bash Sounds of Freedom, the amazing true story about a former Homeland Security agent who left the agency to rescue children from human trafficking.

It is all politics. Britain’s unabashedly left-wing newspaper, The Guardian, labeled Sounds of Freedom as a Qanon conspiracy, as did the website Jezebel. Both also tried to connect the movie to right-wing extremists.

“Both U.K. publication The Guardian and website Jezebel claimed that the film starring Jim Caviezel, which was based on the true story of a U.S. Homeland Security agent rescuing two young children from human traffickers in South America, was attached to QAnon, a right-wing community that has been accused of buying into fringe conspiracy theories,” writes Gabriel Hays for Fox News.

The Guardian even suggested, the movie was a box office flop.

Unsurprisingly, Rolling Stone also bashed the Sounds of Freedom. READ: Rolling Stone Trashes ‘Sound of Freedom,’ Mocks Viewers, Downplays Scale of Child Sex Trafficking Industry

Why all the hate?

Well, fundamentally, it’s because Sounds of Freedom is a Faith-based film, produced by a Christian film studio, starring a Christian actor Jim Caviezel, about a Christian couple who were involved in stopping human trafficking.

But despite this wave of negativity, Sounds of Freedom, which cost $14 million to produce, just hit $40 million in sales.

Incredibly, Sounds of Freedom even beat out Disney’s mega-blockbuster, Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny on July 4, 2023, America’s Independence Day. And it wasn’t even close ($14.2 million vs. Indiana Jones’ $11.7 million) despite showing in almost half the theaters as Indiana Jones (2,850 vs 4,600 for Indian Jones).

But experts have been shocked by the continued collapse of the Indiana Jones movie, which throughout mocked its franchise hero Indiana Jones, starring Harrison Ford.

With only $172 million in sales internationally, the movie which cost around $400 million to produce is now expected to lose money. It’s unheard of for the Indian Jones franchise.

Meanwhile, Sounds of Freedom is seeing nothing but profit.

Here is the irony, Disney at one point held the rights to Sounds of Freedom.

As John Nolte, writing for The Blaze, explains:

How’s that for justice? Disney acquired 20th Century-Fox in 2019 and immediately shelves Sound of Freedom, which wrapped in 2018. Why would Disney shelve a $14.5 million Christian-themed film when Christian-themed films make money? Easy answer: it’s a Christian movie.
