Premier Christian News reports that a recent British poll, conducted by Savanta ComRes, discovered that 38% of British adults believe that prayer helps their mental health.
The poll of 2,075 adults over the age of 18, also found that 53% worry about their mental health and 45% are concerned about their future.
But the poll, conducted on behalf of Eternal Wall of Answered Prayer, also indicated that British society is not as secular as many want us to believe it is.
The results of this poll shouldn’t really surprise us because in his letter to the Philippians, the Apostle Paul clearly connected prayer to our mental well-being writing:
6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and pleading with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. 7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:6-7 NASV)
