According to Liberty Counsel, Virginia Governor Ralph Northam is encouraging citizens to snitch on people who are breaking his lockdown orders.
The state even provided an online snitch form that you can fill out to snitch on your neighbours, friends or anyone you hold a grudge against. It could even be family member if you like (Matthew 10:21-22).
And this even includes churches, as the handy dandy online snitch form has a dropdown box where one of the choices you can select is religious services.
According to Liberty, in Northam’s phase two opening churches are limited to “no more than 50 percent of the lowest occupancy load on the certificate of occupancy of the room or facility,” and the people must be six feet apart. Violators are threatened with one year in jail and a $2,500 fine.
Meanwhile, the Democrat Governor allows demonstrators protesting the death of George Floyd to flaunt all his rules.
Liberty Counsel, a nonprofit legal organization, is representing Lighthouse Fellowship Church in a legal battle with Governor Northam.
In its news release, Liberty explains the details:
Liberty Counsel represents Lighthouse Fellowship Church on Chincoteague Island in the federal lawsuit against Governor Northam after he sent police to serve a summons to Pastor Kevin Wilson for holding a church service for 16 people spaced far apart in a sanctuary that is rated for 293 people. The charge is violating Northam’s COVID Order 55 with a penalty up to a year in jail and/or a $2,500 fine. Yet, commercial establishments in the area were filled with people.
Of course, snitches have been a favourite tool of despots throughout the ages, a fact that Liberty noted:
Liberty Counsel Founder and Chairman Mat Staver said, “Governor Ralph Northam has created a gestapo where residents are encouraged to report neighbors for exercising their First Amendment right to attend a worship service without fear of punishment.
During the Nazi occupation of France during World War II, the Gestapo reported that their Paris mail box was filled each morning with letters of people turning in their neighbours and friends. Fortunately, Governor Northam hasn’t reached the level of the Communist Party of China that is offering financial rewards for people to snitch and root out Christians.
