Somewhere along the way the wheel of my life got stuck. What was I not getting? I was feeling pretty rough and everyone in our house knew it.
I was being pulled under and drowning in self-doubt. False perceptions of myself hung like strings of seaweed on the waterwheel of my life as it lurched and jolted to a stop.
I wondered, what if I am not good enough to accomplish what is at hand for me to do? And even if I do start something, what if I’m not sure what to do next?
Lana Vawser prophesied recently that one of the main strategies of the enemy is to whisper in your ear that ‘there’s something wrong with you.’
“One of the strategies of the enemy, is he is coming in as a slithering snake, whispering”there’s something wrong with you. “God has withdrawn,” God is far away” and the opposite is true. The Lord is close, and the Lord is inviting you to a deeper place than you have been before.” (Prophetic word January 24th, 2018 – Lana Vawser Ministries)
I am learning that it’s OK not to know every step you will need to take when you begin something new in your life.
And, as one author, Linda-Joy wrote, “it’s OK to feel as if your stuck in the space between what is and what is coming into your life. It’s OK to take the time to slow down, get quiet and sift through the muck of emotions and false beliefs that arise.”
I knew that my attitude of gratitude had slipped away and I needed to get it back. It was the energy that sourced the waterwheel of my life.
I started to say thank you. I said thank you when I couldn’t even think of anything to be thankful for. That’s how stuck I was. Nothing came to mind. How bad was that?
I began to thank God for who He was because He is sovereign and the one above my thoughts and my ways.
“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord. As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways.” (Isaiah 55: 8-9)
Recently, I have been sifting through old stuff (muck) and false beliefs about myself. Linda-Joy asks, is it possible to feel strong, courageous, excited and vulnerable, fearful and unsure all at the same time? I can tell you it is possible.
I encourage you to nurture your friendships. Value them. Show appreciation and gratitude for the people in your life even if they drive you crazy. Be grateful for the lessons you are learning. Be thankful for the people who ground you and share their perspective on your situation with you.
Appreciate those whose personality is not like yours. The one’s where you need to be open and learn new skills just to communicate with them.
It is in my best interests and highest good to acknowledge God when I am stuck.
Offering praise and thanksgiving to God just because He is God is enough to get your wheel moving. Thanksgiving produces the oil of gratitude that keeps it churning.
“In everything give thanks for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you,” (Thessalonians 5:18)
