Study: High social media usage may cause mental health issues for teens?

According to a study conducted by Cambridge University’s Digital Mental Health program, social media may be causing mental issues in teens, particularly as they enter puberty. The study, reported by The Verge, noted that it came to this conclusion from studying the results of seven surveys of 72,000 individuals between 2011 and 2018 and a survey of 17,000 between the ages of 10 to 21. The study found that higher social media usage resulted in teens having ‘low’ self-esteem and ‘poor’ body image, which showed up when they entered puberty, and also at the time they were ready to leave home. The Verge reports: “Narrowing in on adolescents, the team found that for people in the 16- to 21-year-old age range, both very low and very high social media use were both linked with lower life satisfaction. In 10- to 15-year-olds, there wasn’tmuch difference in life satisfaction between kids reporting low and high social media use. But in that group, girls with high social media use had lower life satisfaction than boys.” READ: Social media …

What the healing of a woman on a ventilator and in a wheelchair shows us about healing?

It is important to remember that it doesn’t matter what church you attend, it is faith in Christ that brings miraculous healing. Faithwire recently reported on the healing of a woman attending a Roman Catholic Church in Lansing, Michigan. Dani Laurion who attends Saint Mary Cathedral suffers from postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS) and autonomic dysfunction and as a result, has been in a wheelchair and on a ventilator for nearly 13 years. She was attending a healing service at the church on March 15, 2022, when she raised her hands in prayer. “I reached up,” Dani said, “and I just said, ‘I need you, and I need you to hold me and just take care of me. At the same moment, one of the church leaders released a word of knowledge, that someone’s lungs were being filled. As soon as Dani uttered that prayer, she experienced a strange sensation in her body that felt like someone had turned on a tap in her ears and water was pouring down through her body. She immediately …

Does the controversial Nazareth Inscription support the rumors circulating at the time about Christ’s resurrection?

In his report on Christ’s resurrection, Matthew writes that an angel rolled away the massive stone that was blocking the entrance of Jesus’ tomb and then sat on it. The terrified guards fled in terror. This same angel whose appearance looked like lightning told the women who had come to visit the tomb that Jesus had risen from the dead and was now on His way to Galilee (Matthew 28:1-10). Matthew then adds this strange addendum, reporting on what happened when the guards told the chief priests and elders about their encounter with the angel. Matthew writes that the chief priest bribed the guards into saying that the disciples had stolen Christ’s body after the guards had fallen asleep. But then Matthew adds this odd statement. 14 If this report gets to the governor, we will satisfy him and keep you out of trouble.” 15 So the soldiers took the money and did as they were instructed. And this story has been widely circulated among the Jews to this very day. (Matthew 28:14-15 NIV) The Jewish leaders assured the …

Prove to me that God Exists … or not

Can you prove that God exists? Did you ever have that argument, on either side? I am writing as a Christian, but I think some of the arguments miss the point. Most people in the world believe in God, or gods. Most of us are religious. Imagine an Atheist challenging anyone, in any religion with this demand “Prove to me that God exists!” Is there an answer? Anywhere? This is critically important. It’s the foundation of who we are, and we should not base our lives on something with no foundation. Some people argue that God does not exist, and they also argue that God could not possibly exist. Here is an example. Other people argue that God does exist, such as we see here: READ: Does God Exist? So, when we are challenged, what do we say? For me, “we” is mostly Christians, but anyone who believes in any god, or gods, should think about this. Why do we bother? How do we answer the challenge? Some people need to build a better foundation. …
