In a virtual Natural March for Life rally held this past Friday (Jan 29, 2021), former NFL quarterback, Tim Tebow, shared how doctors tried to convince his mother to abort him because of medical complications

Saul or Saul?

Remember Saul? Not Saul who become Paul and wrote most of the New Testament letters. But Saul, king of Israel. They had the same name but the exact opposite life stories. Old Testament Saul started out doing right, then ended up doing wrong. New Testament Saul started out doing wrong and ended up doing right. This reminds me of a parable Jesus said about the two sons of a farmer. Jesus says that their Dad asked them to go work in the field. One said he would, but he didn’t. The other said he wouldn’t, but he did. One started out bad but later did good. The other started good, but later did bad. (Matthew 21:28-32) Both Saul’s and the two son’s parables illustrate the difference between people. There are some who claim and even believe they are doing good yet don’t. Then there are those who end up doing good in spite of themselves. Jesus used the parable in Matthew 21 to show that it was the sinners (tax collectors and prostitutes) who heeded …

‘Christian’ Antisemitism Raises Its Head Again

By Dr. Michael L. Brown Shortly after I came to faith in late 1971, at my father’s request, I met with the local rabbi. By God’s grace, my life had been radically transformed, going from a heroin-shooting, LSD-using, rebellious, hippie rock drummer to a Jesus-loving, clean-living child of God. And this happened virtually overnight. What a miracle! But as much as my dad was thrilled to see me off drugs, he wasn’t thrilled to see me believing in Jesus. As he said to me, “Michael, we’re Jews. We don’t believe this.” So it was that I met with the local rabbi, who quickly befriended me and took a genuine interest in my well-being. He challenged my beliefs, forced me to dig deeper into the Scriptures, and provoked me to learn Hebrew well. He also challenged me to look at the record of church history, which was a total shock for me. What? Christians hating the Jewish people? Christians persecuting the Jews? Christians killing the Jews? The gave me a book to read, accompanied by a …

Study: Men the hardest hit by second lockdowns

According to a recent survey conducted in Denmark, while women were the ones the hardest hit mentally by the first lockdown, men are the ones being most impacted by the second lockdowns. But despite the shift, overall women are still the ones who have experienced the most mental stress because of the lockdowns being instituted by governments around the world because of COVID. Study Finds reports: AARHUS, Denmark — The last 12 months have been tough for everyone, regardless of gender. That being said, a new study out of Denmark finds that while women initially showed greater signs of mental distress during the first round of Spring 2020 lockdowns, it’s now men facing the most mental health challenges during COVID’s “second wave.” “We see that men’s psychological well-being is lower in the November-December measurement than it was during the spring lockdown, while the trend has gone in the opposite direction for women,” says study author Søren Dinesen Østergaard, professor at the Department of Clinical Medicine and affiliated with the Department of Affective Disorders at Aarhus University …

Video: Thomas Sowell – Common sense in a senseless world

In this video, hosted by Jason Riley, we look at the life of Thomas Sowell, 90, a black conservative who many believe is “one of the greatest minds of the past half-century.” Over his career, he addressed issues of racial inequality, economics, history, migration and culture. He counters the message of a victim mentality with one of personal responsibility. When he was in his 20s, Sowell described himself as Marxist and even wrote a book sympathetic towards Marxism. However, after interning for the federal government in 1960, his views changed as part of his work included studying how increasing the minimum wage in Puerto Rico’s sugar industry contributed to rising unemployment. After being the first person in his family to complete grade six, Sowell went on to become a senior fellow at Stanford University‘s Hoover Institution. He has written over 30 books along libertarian, conservative themes with his latest, Charter Schools and Their Enemies, published in 2020.

What happened to those extra books in the Bible?

Someone phoned me, the other day, and asked me a question I did not expect. He wanted to know about the extra Bible books, the ones Protestants don’t include in their Bibles. There are at least seven extra books in Roman Catholic Bibles, and even more in Orthodox Bibles. The Ethiopian Orthodox Church is the most liberal, with the most books in their official Bible. Strangely, this is an issue for many young people today. I thought this was a boring topic that only a few scholars cared about, but now we have a younger generation, and they have questions. When was the last time you had a conversation about the Apocrypha, the Deuterocanonical Books, or the Septuagint? Me neither. The question from my friend was from someone who doesn’t read the Bible, I think. He never mentions it. The question about those extra books is like a challenge; ‘If you people can’t decide on the official version, I won’t start reading the Bible.’ We talked, and I hope the conversation was useful to him. …
