In an interview with the TV station Caracol, Colombian pop star, Yeison Jimenez, 34, spoke about having dreams warning him that he would die in a plane crash.

Jimenez is one of Colombia’s most popular folk singers.

Those were the dreams. And in one of the dreams, I dreamt that we had died and that we were on the news. And it was the third time I dreamt that. God gave me three signs, and I didn’t understand them, I didn’t get them,” Jimenez said in the interview.

A few weeks later, Jimenez, along with his entire band, died when their plane crashed as they were flying for a concert in Medellin on Saturday, Jan 10, 2026, the NY Post reports,

At this point, I have no way of knowing if Jimenez was a Christian. But he believed God was sending him a warning.

In Joel 2:28, the prophet said that in the end days God would pour out His Spirit on all flesh. Because of this, they (all flesh) would have dreams and visions.

This means the Holy Spirit would speak to Christians and non Christians alike through dreams and visions.

We see this happening in many stories of Muslims becoming Christians because of dreams. Throughout the Bible, we also see God sending warning dreams to non believers like the Pharaoh of Egypt (Genesis 41) and the King of Babylon (Daniel 2).

But this leads to an interesting story on Charisma News about an interview that prophetic teacher Perry Stone had on Manna-Fest. In it, he spoke about how the Holy Spirit will send us warnings.

Perry had received many himself. He described them as sudden burdens that is some instances lasted several days. Though they didn’t come in the form of dreams, they were Holy Spirit warnings.

I would have a sudden internal weight that you would call a burden,” Stone said. “This was an impending feeling of danger, and it would overwhelm me to the point that I would have to leave the office and go home.”

Stone added that over the past 18 years, he noticed a pattern that repeated itself again and again. There were 20 instances when these warning burdens preceded the death of someone within his relationship circle by seven to ten days.

He believes these were genuine warnings from the Holy Spirit. So his advice is don’t ignore them.

When you begin to sense something is not right…don’t blow it off,” Stone said. “Find a place of prayer and begin to pray against it, and God can prevent trouble and danger from coming your way if you’ll learn to listen.”

I received a similar warning years back. I don’t believe it involved a life or death situation. I had just started a new job. My boss asked if my wife and I would be interested in moving to another city to help start a new office.

It required us to leave friends, family and a church that we had been involved for years.

While we wrestled with this decision, I got a warning dream. It was very clear. We needed to move because things would not go well for us if we stayed.

In large part because of that dream, we made the move. A year and a half later we would return.

It ended up being one of the best decisions we ever made. We came in contact with one of the few genuine prophets I have ever personally encountered. His prophetic words helped heal the deep spiritual and emotional wounds my wife and I experienced in a church where the pastor had fallen.

It’s true I don’t know what would have happened if we had stayed. But the benefits for moving were very real.

It is easy to ignore these warnings. It is easy to put them off as a product of an over exaggerated imagination or last night’s pizza. But I wonder how many others, like Jimenez, have ignored these warnings?
