When Gabe Poirot arrive at the hospital emergency he was suffering from a traumatic brain injury, CBN reports.

Gabe and his friend John Michael were skateboarding when Gabe’s board hit something on the road. The impact sent him flying six feet in the air and landing on his head.

Gabe, who was not wearing a helmet, was knocked unconscious.

As they waited for the ambulance Michael prayed that Gabe would not die.

Gabe said that he was aware his friend was praying for him, but added something strange started happening to him.

“By the time the ambulance had gotten there, honestly, I was suctioned up by light to this tunnel of light suctioned me up out of there,” Gabe said.

“I immediately knew that I was being suctioned up to an appointment with Him,” Gabe added. “It was like this city of pure glory, pure light, pure love. But then as the closer I got to the center of the city, He was – He was there waiting for me. Seeing Him changed everything.”

After his arrival at the hospital, emergency workers immediately recognized the seriousness of Gabe’s injury and put him into an induced coma.

Dr. Forrest Moore the hospital’s vice chief of surgery stated that with this type of major brain trauma, there was little that could be done but hope the brain will heal itself. He added that even if Gabe survived the chances of brain damage were very high.

As news of Gabe’s injury circulated, people who were part of his faith community and beyond began to pray. This included a worship night where people prayed on his behalf.

Gabe stated that he actually saw the prayers of the people coming up to heaven.

“They were gathered up into this bowl, this golden bowl, every single one of them,” Gabe said. “And literally they are presented to the throne room of heaven and all of heaven stands at attention because our prayers are the Father’s priority.” 

Back at the hospital, concerns were mounting because Gabe’s health was deteriorating.

He had been in a coma for eighteen days, when a family friend, Ginger, came to pray for him at the hospital.

“I know you can hear me…. I’m going to pray that you wake up. You’ve got to wake up. You cannot stay in this coma,” Ginger said.

As she prayed a miracle took place. Gabe began to stir and woke from his coma.

Gabe said that at first he was confused. He had no idea where he was, because he had been in the presence of Jesus.

“I felt like such a foreigner. And it was so odd because here I am in the same body I was in just 18 days ago,” Gabe said.

Gabe added as Ginger prayed for him, he saw a bridges being built through the prayers of all the people.

They then merged into one large bridge and Jesus became part of this bridge making it even bigger. It was time for Gabe to return to earth.

Within a few days of awakening, Gabe left the hospital.

“I mean, it is nothing short of a miracle,” Dr Moor said. “And, it is God’s grace that he is here today and that he’s fully recovered. Very few patients with his injuries requiring his amount of care being put in that pentobarbital coma, very few survivors, and even fewer that have a full recovery.”

While some may question Gabe’s testimony, his healing reveals the intervention of God.

Throughout the Bible we also have several references to people being caught up to heaven.

It happened to the Apostle Paul when Jesus appeared to him on the Damascus road. He described it as being “caught up to paradise” where he “heard inexpressible things.”

Paul wasn’t sure exactly what happened. He didn’t know if his spirit went to heaven or if he had a vision (1 Corinthians 12:2).

Gabe’s encounter raises a similar question. He stated, “Like a hand right out of the glove. I found myself looking down at my own body, but it wasn’t me.”
