If we believe the Bible is the Word of God, then Pope Francis just said that God was wrong when Jeremiah prophesied, “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately sick; who can understand it?” (Jeremiah 17:9 ESV).

The Christian Post reports that Pope Francis contradicted the Bible’s view of the human heart in a recent interview with 60 Minutes‘ Norah O’Donnell, when asked if he saw any hope in society.

We are all fundamentally good,” Pope Francis told O’Donnell. “Yes, there are some rogues and sinners, but the heart itself is good.”

As Pope Francis’ views became public, many responded.

Christian author, Eric Metaxas, suggested that the Pope sounded more like a heretic than the leader of one of the world’s largest church denominations:

Others compared Pope Francis to Pelagius, a fifth-century Monk who was called a heretic and excommunicated from the Roman Catholic Church for holding a similar opinion.

Of course, this is not the first time Pope Francis has made comments that contradicted the Bible.

In a letter responding to a series of questions asked by Eugenio Scalfari, publisher of La Repubblica newspaper, Pope Francis said all that was necessary for an atheist to go to heaven was to live according to his conscience.

  1. When speaking about the HEART, (soul) as meant in the Gospels we are speaking of a Person [1 Peter 3:4] “But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price” The heart is the person that represents each and every one the moment of death when the soul exits the body. This is the heart/soul upon which Lord Jesus will restore man “to body and soul” again at His Second Coming according to each person deeds. [Galatians 6:7-8] “7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. 8 For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption, but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.

The heart/soul, is ill-begotten and in need of a therapy! [Matthew 15-19] “FOR OUT OF THE HEART PROCEED EVIL THOUGHTS MURDERS ADULTERIES FORNICATIONS THEFTS FALSE WITNESS BLASPHEMIES” Furthermore vainglory, ego, envy, hatred, lustiness stinginess and greed are equally strong passions that siege the heart (self-will) and force the mind (body) in the unnatural act of sin.
    God bless
